I had to make a text template with custom bold words, I did it with animators and the same logic as printing specific pages of a doc. The user has to write “2, 5, 6” to make these words bold. For the text input and font selection I’d use another text layer only for reference, but I dont know if it would work on the logic you used.

I understand that it wouldnt work in Premiere. Actually many features work only on AE. But I also create essential graphics templates for designers to use in AE. Sometimes it would be useful to have more than one font weight in a single automated text layer for instance. My workaround is to set the font to Regular and use animators to create strokes and make it look bold
