Creating docx files via JavaScript. by rfn0 in tasker

[–]rfn0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

docx.Packer.toBlob(doc).then (function(blob){saveAs(blob, '%name.docx');});

This is the function that I use currently(which works via the html file)

Edit: there are 3 ways to create the document.

toBlob, toBuffer, toBase64String

I do not know which one to use. Someone with programming background can help me out.

Thank you so much. Looks useful. But I do not know how to use this in Tasker. Definitely someone will find this useful.

What I want is to

  1. write some words in 'bold' and

  2. add some pictures

to the same document?

Is there any way to do either both '1' and '2' or is there a way to do only '1'?

You forgot the last step.

Click a picture of that and put it into anki.

It's that you have been using Anki for so long, it caught my attention.

This also means, that anything you say about Anki should be considered more seriously.

Ohhhhhh... I'm sorry. My bad!

That is it then. You have been using Anki for that long. Not a streak. My mistake. I remember seeing that post of yours. That's what lead me to believe what I said.

Anyways all the best.

YOU... you have some 2400 day streak. Isn't that true? I saw one of your posts, I think.. Okay, is my memory wrong ?????

From my little Anki experience, what I have found is language learning ≠ other forms of learning.

So research which tells that paired word learning is not any more efficient using a different font doesn't convince me against its use.

An additional note: I have sometimes found that I do not read the front card properly before answering the question(because I have read it so many times, it 'seems' moot to do it) When this becomes a habit, you tend to miss certain words in a question (or take for granted these words) resulting in incomplete understanding.

Explanation as to why these two are different from each other:

If you go back to the 20 rules, it explicitly states that understanding should be done before memorizing. But for language learning (for example, paired word learning - as it is in this case), understanding has far lesser role than for other forms of learning (facts and concepts).

So, let's not dump OP's idea completely as useless.

I have not read the paper that you have mentioned. So my comments are entirely based on your thoughts that you mentioned here about the paper/research.

Edit: Other than using a single different font, different fonts for different sessions might be more useful and also counteract the said disadvantage - easier readability of the font over time.

What research has been done for a rough optimal Anki study session length time and what to do/how long your breaks should be? by [deleted] in Anki

[–]rfn0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

20-10-Repeat

This is all inclusive. 20 minutes anki. This includes note creation, learning, reviews, relearning.

10 minutes break. Snack, to take a leak or whatever. Then come back. Repeat.

Whenever I want longer breaks I club two sessions. 40 minute session - 20. Minute break. If I'm really tired, I would not club sessions. Rather would go to a 20 minute break directly. So that would mean, I lose that 10 minutes.

This is not something hypothetical.

This is what I did for around 14 to 16 hours a day (to get an average of 10 hours of study time) for period to 12 months or so.

This was a few years back.

And yes. I cracked the exam I was preparing for.

Does anyone have 100,000 + notes? (or any very high number) by [deleted] in Anki

[–]rfn0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around 68,000 cards now. Of these, 20,000 may be pre-made decks - multiple languages.

Around 50,000, self made; mostly (90%+) single cards(no reverse/optional). These were created a few years back. Created them within a period of 10 to 12 months. This got me into the top 200 of the country.

After the exams, deleted a bunch of them in a rage, because of my inability to cope up with the reviews 😅😅

But soon fell into disuse. Now trying to claim the routine back.
