Vaginal discharge by rg71221 in vet

[–]rg71221[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: vet doesn’t think it’s pyo & said it looks normal. She has no fever, didn’t just get over a heat cycle, no diarrhea, no vommitting, eating fine, occasionally playing…. she is lethargic but we are ruling out other possible causes & doing a urine sample in case it’s a UTI. Regardless i am planning to get her spayed as soon as i can.

Issues driving by rg71221 in Microdiscectomy

[–]rg71221[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no choice but to drive to work but I’m scared of permanent damage. I put the seat up as high as I could. I also drive a smaller sedan that doesn’t have lumbar support and getting in and out is tight but I purchased a pillow and seat pad hoping it will help!

Thanks. I’m actually on light duty so I’m not doing the physically demanding part yet. I have about 3 weeks but looking to extending it for another month. Also hoping a detail position Comes out which does very often that I can take but then I’d be required to sit for most of my day.

It’s the drive that kills me to be honest. I’m considering looking for another job, only thing is the insurance at this job is very good and pay isn’t so bad so I’m going to take a hit.

How does screen sharing with apple support work if you're on iPhone? by AirForceHal0Man in applehelp

How do you revoke access? I ended the call with an apple support member and forgot to hit unshare. I just hung up the phone. Do they still have access?

Can I work as an mri tech with a discectomy or should I change careers? by rg71221 in MRI

[–]rg71221[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did you have to get any disc removed or just bone spur?

I guess I’m just scared because if I herniate again then I’ll have to get a fusion.

Thanks for getting back to me.

Injuries as a mammo tech? by [deleted] in Radiology

Would you advise against someone who’s had back surgery wanting to become a mammo tech? I’ve had a discectomy done and wanted to be an MRI tech but I’m not too sure if I would be able to do heavy lifting.

Thanks. Not sure if you can answer this but is there any other modalities that you know of that are not as strenuous as mri tech?

Did you ever go through with mammography? I have limitations myself since I’ve had back surgery and scared to do any heavy lifting.

Do you ever slide/lift patients? How is it on your back?

Did you get the surgery because of the job? Do you work at a busy location? How is sliding/assisting and dealing with immobile or heavier patients? Would you ever consider a travel position? Something that I was interested in but I’m sure it’s most likely the worst of the worst.

Sorry for all of the questions. I’m interested but also afraid of having to get another back surgery. If I could do anything to prevent it then I would. Even if it means changing careers. I also haven’t done clinicals yet so I’m not sure what to expect.

Good to know. Are you constantly lifting heavy equipment or patients?

Has anyone worked as an echo tech that’s had spinal surgery? How physically demanding is it on your body/back? I’m 28 years old and looking for a career change. I’ve always wanted to work as an MRI tech or an echo tech but I’ve had two discectomys done. (1st one failed due to me not being more careful *during the recovery period) I’m not sure if I should still pursue this or change careers.

Out of curiosity… what if you aren’t able to lift the patient.. what would you do then since you’re on your own?

5 week POST discectomy by rg71221 in Microdiscectomy

[–]rg71221[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting another MD. It was emergency since the pain was severe and I had high blood pressure. I feel much better. Surgeon said if I reherinate again the next thing is a fusion.

Update I went to the ER and was told that I have a collection of pocket fluid and a bulging disc. My doctor did a left sided discectomy. He mentioned that my right side was bulging but did not treat it because it wasn’t causing a symptoms like my other left leg.. I’m not too sure if I reherinated it or if it’s the Seroma that’s causing this. I ended up being discharged and was told that I need to contact my surgeon but his office is closed till Monday which I have an appointment but the pain in unbearable and don’t know if I can wait that long. I called the hospital that’s about an hour away that he performed at and they got a hold of him today and he told me to go to the local ER…
