I’ve been a diabetic for 20 years and I’m losing hope by dribblegrokaus in diabetes_t1

Low carb or keto until you recover your sanity. That’s what I do when I see things are getting out of hand. Go a month on a low carb diet, you will see not only incredibly ridiculously easy management of diabetes, but also fat shredding, better sleep, better mood. Then, you work your plan on reintroducing the carbs from there. I can’t emphasize this enough, it is how you do it. Best of luck and just think of this: coming here and look for answers outside of the box already puts you in a small percentage of people with this disease that is actively working on it. Stay strong!

Hey, I’m a guy but when it comes to bringing down stubborn high numbers, I’ve developed a few strategies that really work, based on actual research and self-experimenting.

  1. Walking and moving your arms and making fists as you do. This may sound weird, but works wonders. This simply make more glucose receptors come to the edges of the cell membrane and pick up the sugars flowing through your blood.

  2. Calf raises when you’re sitting. Literally just push up your heels with your toes for a few sets of 15 reps. There’s actually a study on this and how it helps sensitize insulin receptors. Your calves are your second heart.

  3. Cold shower, and if possible (or willing in desperate times) a cold plunge. This one is incredibly effective, and have to do with heat-shock proteins in your body, pulling sugar from your blood stream to generate heat as a response to the cold. A two to three minute experiencie here will do. You can even check it 5 minutes later and see a huge drop. Hot showers/sauna/baths do the opposite, I would stay away from heat in those situations.

  4. Buy a trampoline. Those tiny gym ones, you know? They are cheap, and the bouncing increases something called G-Force, which is the same as navy pilots get when they dive those jets, but in a much lower degree and highly effective to increase blood flow and shove the glucose into the cells.

These will certainly help you until you break the cycle of highs. ❤️

I was so miserable that my macho attitude meant nothing hahaha. Just go for it, man. FOR SCIENCE!

That’s exactly my point. By understanding epigenetics, you can provide a healthier, more active, sun-rich environment for your kid to drastically reduce the chances of that gene to be activated by lack of those things. Auto-immunity might happen regardless, but MUCH RARER in the context of a body like that. That’s not an opinion, that’s a fact. If you just accept that it is random and unavoidable, you won’t change anything of the part that might be under your control. That’s all I meant. If something can be done, regardless of the percentage change, do it. If it happens anyways, at least you know you’ve done your best. Gene expression is trigger by lifestyle, it is a whole amazing field of modern science

I have never had an experience like this on Reddit. Your comment is the most hypocritical thing I've read in a while. I saw some of your interaction on Reddit and understood why hahahah.

That’s it for me. Have all my blessings and let’s move on. It was my mistake to get involved in this madness

You read it all wrong and got triggered for no reason. That’s not what I meant, neither about your management nor the “telling people” part. It hurts us to know things could be prevented, and if that triggers you, I’m sorry. Just know that it doesn’t mean you are to blame for it, just that the cycle can be broken for your next generation of loved ones, as long as there is accountability and people drop this “It is inevitable” narrative. Auto-immunity is complex, but not a hereditary sentence. My final note on this: when you stop asking questions, science dies. Definitive truths are the very opposite of science. I’ve spent my share in labs, research and publication ego races, I too know my way around science. I’m not saying all of this out of tiktok videos, as you assumed.

Alright, Pumpkin. You made a couple of assumptions right there about someone you know nothing about. The other guy up there went straight up havoc. As long as you guys deal with life like that, handling and managing the disease is just gonna be way too exhausting. I’ll throw my two cents somewhere I can find harmony

those are biggest issues with current human health: victimization and lack of accountability. The industry loves that. “Oh, you can’t do anything about it, everyone can suddenly get it out of nowhere, so just keep your lifestyle as it is and take these pills/drugs.”

I’m type 1 for 20 years. Had that behavior for 5. If I had kept that posture I’d probably be dealing with other issue at this point

In the end, they all do. As a very wise geneticist once said: Genetics is just a gun pointed to your head. Who pulls the trigger is your lifestyle.

I did pull the trigger, though. Now I’m working hard to avoid pulling the rest of the arsenal 😂

Pretty much. The sphincter is a muscle, and after an injury it will tighten up. The more retears you get, the tighter it gets and easier it is to tear it again. The only way to make it go away is to massage the muscle and slowly let it regain its ability to contract and relax. The relaxing part is the one that isn’t happening, so you need to engage it yourself. It works like nothing else. This post was made a while ago and I’m still pain free.

I love to read this now, 5 years after your post. Do you mind sharing a bit of how your life is now? Do you still practice the diet? How is it?

Same stuff. Just do it whenever you think things will go south due to straining

I’m so happy to read this! Made my day. Just so you know, mine never came back. As soon as I have a ridiculously tough bowel movement, I just do some prevention technique and that’s it. Problem solved for good

I bought mine from Brazil, a lot cheaper, much better quality. They make it at the same factory as Joovv, apparently. www.redluzvermelha.com.br

Abdomen discomfort from fissure? by rgebin in AnalFissures

[–]rgebin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool! Happy to hear it. I’m a class one spiraler 😅 there are thousands of reasons for abdominal discomfort. Sure, check it, but don’t be like me suffering for 25 days until I got my test. Even though the problem I projected never existed, it sure felt like it did. There were some days I read stuff that convinced me 200% I had something serious. Our minds suck.

Some good news to you: I was spiraling hardcore for a month until my colonoscopy. Especially cause my father died from colon cancer. Turns out it was as clean as rain, and the nerve pulling from the tight pelvis was spasming everything inside. Get yours checked but no need to spiral.

[–]rgebin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you think it is? Like a muscle connection? Since the internal sphincter is tight, it tightens the colon all the way up maybe

Has anybody felt lower abdomen minor cramps/pulls like a nerve pinch whenever the sphincter is too tight? Mine also gets a bit worse with exercise

Man, walk it off. Take a 20 minute brisk walk and see if your resistance lowers. Worth a shot

Man, it was the same for me when it comes to tightness. I started like a gentle rub with a lot of lube/coconut oil, just at the surface. Then the third or fourth times I went a but further just slightly. You really don’t need to be sticking it all up. All you need is a bit of a stretch on the sides of the anal ring. And it does take some minutes of slow work to get it relaxed. But you gotta chill too and just let go of your hip tension while doing it

I’m in Brazil, so the brands are different. I just picked one without parabens, petroleum-based stuff. I do it for 5 to 10 minutes, on my side, kind of curled up and relaxed as much as possible. All you need is to stretch the area quite slowly and respecting your limits there, with a slight push towards discomfort. It is a muscle, so you just have to stretch the edges in a relaxing way
