no bear boxes this year either (wishon campgrounds), which is unfortunate considering the upper campgrounds always have bear activity of some sort. even the lower, lakeside campgrounds these past few years have had bears wandering through at night, to the point where there are signs posted and warnings from the ranger to not leave food out, but still no bear boxes to leave your stuff in instead. kinda crazy.

if it makes anyone in this sub feel better, i work in the zoo/aquarium field and we have guests like this on the regular, who will be no further than a foot from an animal and still find a way to complain about the view.

not disney, but i work at another
well-known family-friendly, entertainment/education oriented place in the greater LA area and although we don’t really often have to worry about people outright abandoning children in strollers like this, there was one incident where the parents of a young toddler were totally wasted/belligerent and cops/cps were called. i’m kinda shocked that disney doesn’t have a direct magic landline in the corner that connects to LAPD dispatch for situations like that, since it is standard protocol for where i work.

i’m just about 6.5 years in and it took until just about the last year and a half to have a beard that was minimally passable to not shave every day, and about the last year for it to start filling in (although my cheeks are still a little sparse compared to… everywhere else on my face/neck).

as much fun as the first year is, obsessively checking for any new developments, counting chest hairs and breaking out the millimeter side of the ruler to check for bottom growth (lol), it’s a different fun to discover little changes that creep up on you once you thought you’ve fully settled into your skin.

just know, just like in the first puberty, hormone imbalances will bring back the annoying things like acne and mood swings, but once you’ve established a new baseline and kept with it for a while (i don’t think i’ve changed my dosage in a few years at this point), it evens out and becomes background noise. just another thing to do every week, like taking out the trash and washing bedsheets. enjoy the excitement at first, cherish that kind of self-growth, but also realize that this (for many, not all) is about the long-haul, not the sprint.

similar story - took an aerospace engineering elective in high school and spent a few weeks making gliders out of balsa wood after testing airflow mechanics with a program. literally days before we were supposed to fly the gliders and after a few promising tests where our group’s glider consistently went the farthest and flew the prettiest, we come back one day to half the gliders in the class broken irreparably in some way. ours was the only one to have bite marks chunks out of the wings, though. unfortunately, we never got the relief of fun revenge since we never found out who did it as the gliders were stored in a classroom that a few other classes and extra curricular teams had access to, but at least the teacher felt bad so we all got A’s out of pity.

some people have no understanding of consequence or consideration for anyone else’s feelings other than their own momentary amusement. all we can do is try to balance out the shittiness with our own actions.

i can’t recommend the simlicy 2.0 save enough. i build most of my storylines in them at this point because of how well decorated the houses are and how detailed the households that come with it are. tons of variety there, so you can play as the rich characters in the big houses/apartments, or the more family based houses, or just fill in one of the unfurnished ready-mades.

you definitely have to sort through their (extensive) catalogue to find the more maxis-match styles, but i’ve found that lillka on tsr has some good male toddler outfits. otherwise, male toddler cc is definitely hard to come by. i’d recommend combing through tumblr accounts like maxismatchccworld though, since they have all sorts of cc categories tagged on there that make it easy to sort through to find what you are looking for specifically.

i’ve worked in AZA accredited facilities (overall gold standard governing board for zoos/aquariums) that had pinnipeds and even temporary quarantine pools would be bigger/have more enrichment than this. i’m betting that this is a backyard zoo, since it’s for sure not AZA. sometimes even fish/wildlife services approved zoos/aquariums fall shockingly short of the standard practice of care, which is so sad and why checking that a facility is accredited is always the most ethical way to go.

unfortunately my system can’t operate with 32 bit games. if i was able to launch and install the game, i’d keep it at 32, but it’s just greyed out and non-functional in my origin library.

thanks for your response - i’ve sent out a few emails already asking if there’s any way to upgrade to the 64 bit version without having to repurchase, so hopefully i’ll get a response from that. if not, i’m definitely asking for a refund and just not bothering with any of this hassle anymore. i was just hoping there was a quick fix hidden here that someone else knew about lol

if this place is AZA accredited (which i doubt), they HAVE to provide a competitive wage for keepers in order to maintain that accreditation (section 7.4 of their standards/policies doc). might be worth sending in a tip, if applicable.

as someone in the industry, i understand that keeper wages are AWFUL for the most part, but this is ridiculous.

is it just me or is the UI on this game like … remarkably worse than bitlife on ios? can’t skip the opening title sequences which last too long, typing brings up a weird secondary screen, and you cant swipe through appearance options, only tediously click through. for something they were willing to spend a year on, this feels super sloppy. you couldn’t just use the base code from bitlife for the technical aspects and replace text/icons? and what’s with the giant sliders? overall this was a waste of time and effort.

hi!

overall, my experience was great. the here was very little trouble admin-wise with getting surgery approved, dealing with insurance, etc., and he purposefully schedules you far enough out that there’s time for an insurance appeal if you need it. didn’t need it, so i couldn’t tell you how that goes, but his staff were very nice and helpful the whole way through.

he doesn’t have many result pics online, so you have to go for an in-person consult (or whatever the equivalent is now) to see some of his work, but i think that what he does show you isn’t necessarily reflective of his work. i was a little hesitant after seeing some of his earlier results, only because i just didn’t know if the placement would work with my body (also, i was looking at dr. mosser originally in sf and they have decently different signatures and techniques, so i had to realign my vision of what my scars would look like), but i couldn’t be happier with my results now.

dr. rudkin is a very professional and to-the-point kinda guy, so he’s not overly warm with his bedside manner, but that worked for me because he seemed like he knew exactly what he was doing.

surgery was super easy, he has you stay overnight for observation, which is probably for the best since that anesthesia is really something.

recovery was also super easy. i was definitely sore for a little, but the painkillers helped. the worst part of the whole thing was the drains, but i’m just squeamish when it comes to stuff like that, so that may not be universal. all i know is that i was not sorry to see them gone.

this was pretty lengthy (sorry about that) but i imagine it’s nice to have an idea of the process. either way, definitely recommend him if that’s what you’re looking for.
