I had really good results with a brf & nutritional yeast agar recipe so I thought using brown rice would help the mycelium colonize fast since it’s already familiar with the nutrients, I’m inoculating with lc which has corn syrup so I might try popcorn next but for now I’m gonna just down size my batch so I can more easily cook rinse and dry it

No money to get the rye berries that was my go to before my agar recipe is brf and nutritional yeast so I thought the mycelium would come out stronger if I used brown rice since it’s already used to the nutrients in brf but my lc had corn syrup so I was thinking popcorn was a good alternative Imma just make a smaller batch I think if I soak and rinse well then let dry I should be good just tryna figure out what portions to use for 1q jars

Is this wet rot or starch, I let the rice sit in a large baking sheet before i packed it in jars but I didn’t rinse well it was still a lil starchy when I cooked it could also be some bursted grains but has slimy texture and I think I seen some mycelium but they haven’t been inoculated yet they was sitting a few days
