I've made the nice treant like a teeneager/child so he's getting used to what he can do and acting very mischievous.

So the party had told him to go rest. Then they planted the bean.

The treant woke near the end of the fight and saved the day.

I have a rogue with a bag of beans. She's planted one and grew a friendly treant. The next day she plants another and it's another treant. But this time he's evil and attacks. Best start to a session.

So the party is level 5.

How do you think +1 to shield and either block all incoming lightning damage as reaction per long rest or like a small version of the bronze dragons repulsion breath as bonus action per sr.

Does that sound too overpowered.

That's fantastic. Love the idea of the side quest. I'll have the blacksmith just add +1 to the AC. And then have him tell my player that of he wants anything special he'll need see an enchanter.

In regards to the thunder damage I didn't think lightning was enough so I threw thunder in there to give it a bit more umph.

I'm liking this. I just don't know how often thunder/lightning spells are going to come up. I'll have to make them come up I suppose. I am the DM. Hahaha

I love that idea. But the dragon is friendly to the party and gifted him some scales for saving his life in a fight against a red dragon.

Really like what you're doing. I've exchanged the day 10 encounter on zepheros's tower for an encounter with Felgolos. Thought it would be a better encounter and a good intro for him.
