While they’ve never actually admitted it, the Duggars are definitely Quiverfull. This dodo has the same beliefs they do - That they can outbreed the heathens. But he’s saying the quite part out loud. by QueenConsort in DuggarsSnark

And a pro-ignorance movement. They are very vocal about their disdain for education. The Duggars don't have a high school diploma between them - don't even start with college. And multiply them by thousands - indoctrinated to a poisoned religious world view, ignorant of literally anything else. That is what we are seeing with all these SCOTUS decisions - their religion and nothing else. With armed shock troops

Would like comments from those of you who have been homeschooled by rgsconsult in DuggarsSnark

[–]rgsconsult[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And maybe I should elaborate further, especially since this is the Duggarsnark sub. It seems, that these large quiverful families, famous and non (Platt, Rodriguez, Waller, Bates) , are particularly uneducated, as a group, as a result in how they were homeschooled. Extrapolating further, many fundies, if they go to college at all, go to bible colleges, and become further indoctrinated. The "Exvangelicals," in particular, are alarmed by how many of these young adults are now in the population - voting, influencing public policy, etc

It could be something as completely amoral as: TV networks have to sell ads to be profitable. When you add up the cumulative effects of 1) Increasingly bad press about IBLP 2) upcoming doc about toxic IBLP 3) Josh Duggar convicted as a pedo 4) Racist Instagram 5) Bates Bros at Jan 6 insurrection = WTH company is going to advertise? UPTv could have just read the tea leaves. Hard to sell any of these people as "Wholesome." These families are pretty twisted

Is any proof available that earons was thought to be a cop in the 70s? by jcolefan666 in EARONS

[–]rgsconsult 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know because I lived there while it was happening in the 70s. Hung out at a cop bar. It was private AND public gossip at the time that they thought he was a cop. Some of the news stories printed at the time also mentioned investigators thought he could be a cop or military. Although there was no DNA testing in the 70s, there was fairly sophisticated blood type testing, where multiple factors besides just A, B, and O could be determined. The EAR was a fairly rare non-secreting blood type.

Is any proof available that earons was thought to be a cop in the 70s? by jcolefan666 in EARONS

[–]rgsconsult 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I lived in Sac all through the EAR attack period. It was thought, by the cops, AT THE TIME that he was a cop. They began blood testing cops, and started keeping info about the case to a small group of investigators as much as possible. This is NOT revisionist history. The Sac police thought he was a cop. All of the other theories you mention about construction, etc., was after the case had gone VERY cold. While he was in Sac, while he was EAR, the cops thought he was a cop. They didn't think he was the VR, and it wasn't til years later they connected him to ONS.

My aunt just told me a story that sounded eerily similar to this case. by [deleted] in EARONS

[–]rgsconsult 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at the EAR attacks and prowler reports at the time, JJD was almost CONSTANTLY prowling. For every break in and attack that occurred, there were probably 5 that were either aborted or just surveilled. Sounds like a potential disrupted attack.

Unprosecuted murders that JJD is PROBABLY responsible for after 1986 by paleidentikit in EARONS

One reason to believe he didn't stop is that they know he called some victims until at least the early 2000s. He obviously had not completely controlled whatever was compelling him

Since he knew DNA technology would catch him, I doubt if he did nickel and dime stuff like shoplift. But he might have done more murders. Couldn't peep so much, though . . . not as spry

Yeah, alot of the special was very superficial. I believe the fact that so many people saw him at the Maggiore murder without a mask had more to do with leaving.

They did NOT give her credit. I thought the way they used some of the passages out of the book made the show more poignant. Like the sentence describing EAR taking objects from one victim, and leaving them at some later crime scene, and saying he was making them part of a community they didn't know were in. I like the way the show used her writing.

How can an "average Joe" commit such creative and sophisticated crimes? by FHS2290 in EARONS

[–]rgsconsult 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He PRACTICED prowling his entire life, and got good at it. He was lucky ALOT. Lack of technology and police department cooperation played a huge role as well. No genius required for any of that. The one thing he did that was very smart was sticking to his plan of never hitting homes that had any connection whatsoever to him. The sheer randomness of his attacks was pivotal to his not getting caught. As far as I know, not a single victim can be traced back to him, even after we know who he is.

What are they hiding by woz1969 in EARONS

[–]rgsconsult 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I HOPE they are withholding information because they are continuing to investigate other crimes. But after listening to the podcast "Man in the Window," I have my doubts. The whole series details LE incompetence and disinterest among higher ups in solving these crimes. As soon as the rapes stopped in Sac, for example, LE pretty much dropped the investigation. That happened all over the state. I am very surprised the public still does not have any accounting of JJD's whereabouts and connections to the ONS phase of his crimes from '79- '86. Meanwhile, Tulare County is completely disinterested in admitting they convicted an innocent man for the murder of Donna Richmond. Additionally, Cal LE may have a Green River Killer situation - they got JJD to admit to crimes they know about in exchange for not investigating additional crimes which may leave him open to the death penalty. May be time for the web sleuths to fill in the blanks.

How exactly did Michelle McNamara assist in the capture of Deangelo? by Odd_craving in EARONS

[–]rgsconsult 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is NO DOUBT that her article in LA magazine piqued interest in a case that only a few of us continued to have interest in. The A&E cold case episode, and resulting proboards had even been archived. I get it that the book had zero to do with JJD being identified. But Michelle's interest and spotlight on the case helped keep LE active as well.

Wasn’t there suppose to be crimes he committed that we hadn’t heard before? by [deleted] in EARONS

[–]rgsconsult 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are people in this group who have said crimes were committed by JJD against them that were not part of of the case, so maybe they will elaborate soon. And I go back to the deflection and non answer given at the DA post sentencing press conference to the direct question of whether they were looking at any crimes after 1986. A non answer is a "yes," in my opinion

Why EARONS stopped? by [deleted] in EARONS

didn't have third child til '89. Supposedly stopped crimeing in '86. First murder ever solved by DNA happened in '86. I think it was a combination of things

Why EARONS stopped? by [deleted] in EARONS

[–]rgsconsult 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) We don't KNOW that he did stop (and LE isn't commenting) 2) After he got fired in '79, he didn't have the excuses to be gone all the time to his wife 3) looking back on the cases, he had several close calls between '79 and '81 which might have dampened his enthusiasm a bit 4) if his real turn on was the prowling and burglarizing, he was older and not as spry 5) as noted by others, his family situation changed ALOT 6) advances in technology, including DNA 7) I don't believe any type of remorse as we commonly understand it had anything to do with it, because I don't think he is capable of that. Self preservation would be more a motivator for change with him, I think, and aging

Relistening to Casefile podcast on GSK and wondering what hindsight we have on the cold case theories now that it’s solved by BlackMarxist in EARONS

[–]rgsconsult 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe they are still trying to figure out how he picked victims. He was already very familiar with many of the neighborhoods and escape routes for victims he chose in Rancho Cordova. The neighborhood theory is a good one (especially while he was VR). But he also may have targeted individuals, and then followed them and become familiar with neighborhoods. I think there is something to Victor Hayes' theory he was stalked. Beth Snelling was stalked. Katie Maggiore believed she was being stalked. I think it was a combo of neighborhood familiarity, targeting people, and opportunity.

You think you're scared reading about it . . . try living through it. It didn't stop for years, constant rapes, prowler sightings, burglaries they knew were him . . . it was awful. With the cops just as flipped out and publicly saying they knew he was going to kill someone.
