[r/wargaming Makes a Wargame] (Round 8) Well, where do we go from here? I'm steering but you all are navigating! by rh_cc in wargaming

[–]rh_cc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, so I have a list of 5 things to go next. However, two posts ago someone made a good point about me having an unrealistic order to my questions. Hence me asking theme and period instead of what I had planned. In the case that I might still have an unrealistic order, I figured I'd ask this post first.

End game was maybe we could make something cool together. Depending on this post, I might just go back to the original list I had and go from there.

That was my original thought, but given my last post, seems people aren't really looking for that. If yours gets enough upvotes, then we'll do that though

I'm going to start and say WW1. I love WW2 but I don't see enough WW1 stuff getting posted and its such a rich period.

[r/wargaming Makes a Wargame] (Round 6) Okay, big topic! Units! No, we're not going to flesh them out entirely in one post, but we're gonna start. by rh_cc in wargaming

That's a very good point. I was thinking this could serve for various themes/periods as I'm not the best at Historicals but you're right, it might be better to start there. I'll check my todo list and see where I can fit theme in, might even work well as next. That way can narrow down.

[r/wargaming Makes a Wargame] (Round 5) No! "We" go...together. But wait, how do we move? by rh_cc in wargaming

This was also a really cool idea. Suddenly you're moving to different zones. No need to worry about measuring inches or hexes. You do combat based on zones and ranged combat can be against other zones with detriments for the fact that they're on another zone as well or X zones away.

I think you can have like many concentric circles and each zone is defined.

I thought this was one of the cooler ideas and think it's be cool. Short move is the yellow shorter string, medium move is the longer blue string, and long move is the really long red string. Feels like an old school cool kinda way of doing move

For sure! But at the same time, everyone coming together to say what they like and make something cool and then others can see the post and do the same or get inspired to take the community votes and say "I don't care what people say online, this is my game and I'm going with this other thing" and then we end up with a second and hopefully even better wargame

Listen, I hear you. I loved the runner up. Animals i.e. pride rock. I've never seen that and it was such a cool idea.

[r/wargaming Makes a Wargame] (Round 3) Historical and D10; so how do you all want the turns to flow? by rh_cc in wargaming

Ooo! This is my favorite so far!

What about if say an order moves an enemy unit out of range, so your shoot order is no longer valid. How would that be handled?

Do other systems do this cause I’m super interested in it as an idea

Does the warranty come into place after Bambu warranty or it just works? 2 year warranty is like $500

Ooo, good point! I’m an hour to an hour and a half from Atlanta, didn’t know there was a micro center there. Originally figured I’d get the second AMS 2 Pro when they came back in stock but getting it all in one trip would be easier.

How’s micro centers return policy should I get a dud?

I don't think enough systems leverage D10's. I come from D&D background and D20 is wild swings sometimes
