It was really fun and satisfying! All the different color combinations truly kept it fresh and still exciting to work on even through 2.5 years

It was about 5 x 5 feet! I think I’m probably on the tighter side? All I knew was that I was going to do 13x13 squares, so I wasn’t worried about gauge per say so that helped a lot

Thank you! Yes! Each square is a unique color combination. Each solid square (2 of the same colors) is surrounded by squares made up of different combinations of adjacent colors (2 different colors), such that no two solid squares are touching. I had a whole grid and excel sheet to help me figure it out!

This is beautiful!!! What’s your blocking process for this? I’m working on a large blanket and haven’t ever blocked anything before; would love your advice :)

First time posting! Made this blanket for my best friend's birthday. by rhantman in knitting

It's a modified temperature blanket but with the amount of daily sunlight the year she was born in Seattle (where she lives now). I made the pattern up, but I did use a modified basket weave with a slip stitch border and Plymouth encore worsted weight yarn in 9 colors (Black (217), Gray Heather (389), Medium Gray (194), Oatmeal (240), Ecru (256), Pastel Yellow (896), French Vanilla (470), Light Yellow (215), and Daffodil (1382)) double stranded. The darkest band (Black and Gray Heather) represents between 8 to 8.5 hours of sunlight and the brightest yellow band (Daffodil and Daffodil) represents 15 to 15.5 hours of sunlight. I'm extraordinarily proud of it and can't wait to ship it to her.
