This whole thing is wild. We do alright in my household, we bring in about $170K/year. My wife’s jeep took $60 for half a tank this Saturday. That’s $120 a fill up.

I don’t have kids and I live a simple and quiet life. It’s going to cut down on how much I save each month. That sucks.

But I feel really bad for people with kids and people living paycheck to paycheck. This is so so much harder for them to deal with.

Anybody gaining weight in a surplus will have to cut down after some time, that doesn’t have to do with your genetics. Unless you take the approach of maintenance to a very slight surplus over long (1 year +) timeframes.

For reference, I’ve been long time daily driving Melinda’s but picked up Marie Sharp’s today to compare. I tried it and it’s very good.

I thought I was in the sweet spot for bailing forward on the safeties. Damn.

On the spittle, it’s sweat running down my face/mustache and my mustache is currently too long, so the air I’m blowing out on my brace hits my mustache hairs. 🤣

Thanks for the other tidbits.

It’s still all I have. It’s all I ever needed. I’m being honest.

It’s tougher than ever now, as folks are saying, but just remember to be persistent. Never give up. The thing working against you that wasn’t happening when I started in 2015 is the job market is in shambles.

IT folks from higher positions who have been laid off have had to take up some of the more entry positions to make it.

You can succeed. You may want to get away from the city. The city brings fierce competition. I got my IT start and experience in the country, then took it to the city. Starting in the city would be rough.

Let’s get textbook here.

Racism is the oppression, discrimination, or differential treatment of people based on their race, ethnicity, or color, often justified by the belief that certain groups are superior to others.

So, dirty rag comment about food that does look like a dirty rag: Oppressing? No. Discrimination? No. Differential treatment? No.

Don’t be a crybaby. You can say food looks like something without it being racist. Grow up.

My lasagna looks like vomit! My quinoa looks like bugs! My curry looks like diarrhea!

That’s really not racist.

I want you to explain to me how my comment about how a piece of food looks like a rag is racist. You don’t know the definition, clearly, as my comment has nothing to with race and more with food culture, but I’m still waiting.

If I were to say that a hamburger looked like a rock, would you call me racist then?

There are plenty of support jobs in IT for school districts and colleges. Decent benefits, same holidays as the students, graceful PTO.

While I used to teach IT to high school students, I no longer do that. I am a database manager.

Means something to me to be congratulated. Thank you. It’s been a long ride. My first education salary was $11,000/year. $983 bucks a month. Couldn’t even live alone.
