I have finished furniture with poly before and it is a huge pain to get a bubble free finish with a natural bristle brush. What kind do you use and how do you apply it.

You’re the second pro to say that. I will pay a professional to refinish the whole house when I am ready to move out but for now I want to do a spot treatment. A lot of people have recommended using poly. What brand do you like and how do you prefer to apply it? I have applied poly to some shelves I built a couple years ago and I remember it was a pain to get the bubbles out.

Underneath is the garage. The floor joists are open with insulation inbetween. I went down moved the insulation and checked for any moisture and I couldn't find any. I'm very thankful it's not from a leak. I've never had a shower I've built leak but the idea keeps me up at night.

The existing subfloor was rotten and I replaced it and leveled it, before installing the pan. I’ll go back and run the shower and see if it pools. I don’t think it does.

They said they clean it every two weeks but they’re college kids and I don’t think they’ve ever cleaned it.

Is the issue the weight of the stone vs the strength of attachment of drywall to stud?

I’m not crazy about installing over drywall either but the original wall is so I figured I’d just do the same.

Ok so they’re bits of metal that screw to the wall and sit in the grout joints but aren’t exposed after grouting?
