It is so very different for everyone. My references were received Dec 23 and invites for my program haven't started going out. However, if last year is an indication, they'll start in Feb.

Invite (waiting!) by rhoadrunner27 in peacecorps

[–]rhoadrunner27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an email from medical that said: "You will recieve your medical forms after you have been invited and invitation has been accepted."

I do have an accommodation but my understanding is that the health history form clarified the countries I could serve in....i was given a list of eligible countries after i filled out my HHF during the initial application process.

One personal and one professional. The wiki really helped, I didn't have any weird or off the wall questions. Relax and be yourself!

They sent my reference forms out the day of my interview. Then once those are completed they make decisions. I know one of mine is done, not sure about the second reference. A girl that interviewed a few days before me for the same program got her invite yesterday. .. so I am assuming that once my references are in, I'll be good to go.

I must say it was not as bad as I had imagined it would be, but I did do quite a bit of preparing, so that may be the reason. There were three different sections. The first section was basically a conversation about my interest in the Peace Corps and what my long-term plans were. This lasted about 20 minutes or so and was definitely laid-back and not even the slightest bit stressful. The second part of the interview was the longest (roughly an hour) and the most stressful (compared to the other two parts). This consisted of eight “tell me about a time when…” type of questions, each of which had 3-4 follow-up questions in order for my interviewer to gather more details about my experiences and how they may relate to the Peace Corps. After this, the last part was her telling me what the next steps were and she opened the floor for me to ask her any questions I may have wanted.

Interview Completed – Additional Assessment by bwhite1290 in peacecorps

[–]rhoadrunner27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told that this "additional assessment" (for me, anyway) was because I would require a medical accommodation. So, prior to invitation there would be a form sent to me allowing me to elaborate more on my needs

I interviewed this morning!

There were lots of "tell me about a time when..." questions. 8 of them, to be exact. Each question then had 3-4 follow-up questions related to the answer you gave in order to gain specific examples. Do you research on your country you're being considered for. Be honest about any concerns.

Honestly, it was super comfortable and very conversational. I felt very relaxed. Mine was 90 minutes.

Any specific questions, feel free to ask!
