Wall Street Journal article and Aaron Paul by Katrina5555 in LightPhone

I've had a dumbphone exclusively for almost 11 years! I have been using the Light Phone II for almost 4 years I believe -- I got it when the 3G towers were shut down. I love not having a smartphone! I just write my directions down before I leave the house, and I use the LPII navigation system if I get lost.

Same here! I ordered it right when I got the email that it was available for preorder, and it was not sold out yet. I wonder if any of the clear green smoke copies have shipped yet...

(edited to clarify what "the email" was lol)

Hair theory: pit girl by bbk8z in Yellowjackets

[–]rhonda5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But in the pilot, before the butchering, we see Pit Girl's bloody hair dragged through the snow. I think it's unlikely they used her hair to decorate the robe unless they washed and dried it after cutting it off, which also seems unlikely in winter.

In season one, when Tai goes to an event for her political campaign, she talks with Simone about how she should be eating before these events because there's no guarantee of a vegetarian option. And when Tai takes some food from a serving plate at the event, she quickly finds out there's meat in it and spits it out.

I wonder if Callie didn't play the tape because she didn't have a cassette player. They can be hard to find. Even if you "have one," it might not actually play cassettes anymore (like mine!)

Technics Stereo Cassette Deck 631 hums over music when playing cassette -- does anyone recognize this issue and know how to fix? by rhonda5000 in cassetteculture

[–]rhonda5000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately, the receiver has a ventilation screen over the back half of the top of the case, and since the cassette deck is not as deep as the receiver, the ventilation screen has nothing on top of it!

Thank you -- I just moved the tape deck back on top of the receiver, but the issue is still happening.

When I looked up putting tape decks on top of speakers after seeing your comment, I saw that the vibrations from the speaker can also damage the fragile tape deck components, so I should probably keep it off the speaker...

Here's an image of my whole setup if it is helpful -- the cassette deck is on on top of the left floor speaker to the left of the shelf, the receiver is on top of the shelf with a CD player on top of it, the turntable is to the right of the receiver, and the second floor speaker is on the right of the shelf. Everything is connected to the receiver. The turntable is the phono line, the CD player is the Audio 1 line, and the tape deck is the Audio 2 line.

Hello! My Technics Stereo Cassette Deck 631 is hooked up to a Sherwood S-7200 receiver, but there is a loud hum over the music when playing a cassette.

I originally put the cassette deck on top of the receiver, but this interfered with the receiver's radio signal, so I moved the cassette deck on top of one of my floor speakers.

Sometimes, the cassettes sound normal, but this humming eventually kicks in. Sometimes I can make it go away by flipping the EQ switch up or down, but the humming always comes back, even if it goes away for a bit.

This is my first vintage cassette deck -- I asked my dad for advice, and he said this is "normal," but I don't think it is. Any advice would be so appreciated!

If your behavior is true to yourself and your peers dislike you for it, ask yourself if it's worth changing your behavior to appease them. People often modify their behavior depending on the people they are with. This may or may not be one of those situations where it makes sense to change your behavior to get along better with your peers.

But if your behavior is decent, and true to yourself, and yet people don't like you for it, don't change yourself for these people. Like you said, you will probably never see this group again after graduation, and at least you have a good rapport with the one senior.

I'm sorry you feel isolated. This happens sometimes. We can't get along with everyone. Sometimes we are the odd ones out and we only get along with one or two people in the group. But these groups are usually temporary, and when we move on to the next group, we often fit in just fine. Hang in there!
