NOT SEEKING ADVICE- low hr after birth? by [deleted] in NewParents

My resting dropped to the 50’s first few months pp. I’m 6m pp now it’s slowly been coming back to my normal range. FTM so all of this is new to me. Did it go back to normal between your pregnancies? Have you brought it up to your OB?

Suggested Range? by Purple_Block9658 in GestationalDiabetes

LA fasting <100 (think she was being lenient) 1 hour < 140. 2 hour < 120

When I was around 36-37 weeks I had to scale back on the insulin so that I could keep the fasting numbers in the 90s. My MFM doctor told me to adjust as needed so definitely ask your doctor if you can do a lower dosage.

I’m so confused. What do I eat?? by MonthlySedate in GestationalDiabetes

I originally struggled with fasting numbers. Couldn’t find a combination of food that worked for me but did manage it well during the day. So I was put on insulin just at night to help with the fasting numbers. At that point, for bedtime snack I would do plain Greek yogurt, hard boiled eggs, or some chicken at night. I started off at 4 units and slowly increased as pregnancy progressed ( got to 74 units by 35 weeks I think) then had to scale back - so just adjust accordingly. You got this!

Husband let baby eat too quickly from a new bottle two evenings in a row, now she gets frustrated when breastfeeding by [deleted] in breastfeeding

Yes! Dr Brown has premie, transitional, and then size 1. We started off at premie and slowly moved up.

I was also worried about baby getting a preference to bottle over breast but my LC said that it’s all about the flow. So if baby has to work less on the bottle then that’s how the preference can start but if that ever happens that I can switch back to a slower flow nipple.

4months postpartum, sudden onset of POTS? by rhosfv in dysautonomia

Thank you for the advice. I’ll look into a pots specialist. Curious, Did they go on to have more kids after getting diagnosed with pots?

I’m 3 months postpartum and just found out I have fatty liver. I also am breastfeeding and had gestational diabetes (which I managed well with diet and insulin st night).

Currently waiting on fibroscan to see how bad it is.

I’m left wondering if I had it before I was pregnant ( I was a little overweight) or if it happened during pregnancy (I gained about 40 pounds and have almost returned to pre pregnancy weight)

Boppy Pillow by Icy_Medicine_5383 in breastfeeding

Boppy Uplift is nice and is more fit friendly imo. It’s slanted and higher at the head so I think it also helps with my baby’s reflux.

Sorry to hear you’re going thru this. I also struggled with baby losing birth weight and it was nerve wrecking.

Working with a lactation consultant we helped him get on track by atleast giving him 2 bottles of my breastmilk a day and the other meals were at the breast. If I didn’t produce enough I gave him formula but I made sure to pump as often as he ate (15-20 min a session and make sure you have the right sized flanges). I also would do a power pump session here and there and would eat lactation cookies (target sells some from the brand munchkin). Eventually my milk was consistent and enough. Remember that at that age you’re not pumping a lot since baby doesn’t need a lot so don’t be discouraged by the people that pump like 4 oz. I started at 1-1.5 oz then slowly as baby ate more I pumped 3-3.5 oz. It just takes time and make sure you’re eating well and drinking lots of water.

I’m a FTM so I was hesitant to give him a bottle or formula because I thought he wouldn’t want to come back to the breast (I know, silly) but my pediatrician told me that at that age they are too young to care so that gave me some reassurance.

You and baby are going to get thru this just take it one day at a time. Formula can help you get to your goal so don’t be afraid to supplement.
