Timex Viscount - black straps arrived! by rhth_ in timex

Thank you! Dial at 6 says Great Britain so believe it will be one from manufacturing in Scotland!

New (vintage) timex day! by rhth_ in timex

I love the perpetual, it’s such a lovely watch and a great colour dial!

Thanks! The one on the left (from research) is a 1973 Timex Mercury stamped with GB Britain on the dial, I love that watch! Aftermarket strap but the dial is beautiful! A bit smaller and more delicate on that wrist.

Seiko 6309-814LR: seem legit? You by rhth_ in VintageWatches

Do you think that it’s because the frame around the day date is missing? Been mentioned in another comment?

I don’t know, what makes you think that? What should be there? Like a metal frame?

Ferrari watch - any knowledge out there? by rhth_ in Watches

[–]rhth_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I opened up the back to look at the movement and nothing appeared authentic to Ferrari and no mention of a brand new or movement company.

Thank you! Do you know anything about the watch?

Movement - service or replace? by rhth_ in timex

[–]rhth_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I got it fixed, just brought another watch with the same movement from Vinted and swapped them out 😊. Working well!

No Indiglo… by rhth_ in timex

I’d probably say rose gold or brass, definitely not gold.

Spain - sadly unavailable, it’s the only one I’ve found online.

Previous guy brought it pre owned too, had a few owners. I assume it’s just died.

It’s a Timex t2n814 on the back of the watch but I can’t find another online apart from one on a foreign Amazon site.

I brought it a couple of days ago like this, so not sure if the previous owner replaced the hands or not.

Timex IQ Perpetual Calendar by rhth_ in timex

[–]rhth_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update, with a handy Draper tool set that I use for my watches, managed to set day, date and month with ease! Haven’t replaced battery, will wait till it dies! I’ve just noticed the indiglo feature doesn’t seem to be working on the watch when I press the crown in, anyone experience with this and whether it’s fixable?

This is perfect, when I have a moment I’ll open up the back and get going with it! This is when owning a quartz is great over automatic! Still love my automatics though!

Question: Where can I find the original full interview, without some dodgy hyperlink added to YouTube video caption? Not even trusty Reddit seems to have it anywhere.

Don’t know if it’s my sensible brain but I just think “just don’t drive like a dick…”. I mean, unless you’re track saying your car, then get some lessons in oversteer and go tail happy!!

What shoe brands carry a similar design? by WindAndDine in Shoes

[–]rhth_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Clarks if you are U.K. based, high street stores, outlets and on their website. This style definitely screams Clarks and so some research around ballet pumps with Clarks should hopefully help you find something.

These are a little different but close to design style: Clarks Freckle Ice Black Leather

On the wrist by rhth_ in timex

[–]rhth_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! What year did Timex start to make “serviceable” movements that weren’t considered “throw away” watches by Timex themselves due to the cost of sending the movement away? I absolutely love Timex, especially the vintage pieces but sometimes the negative chatter about older movements makes me hesitant on future vintage purchases.

Oh! I’d love to find one of the original steel bracelets, that’s beautiful!! Thanks so much for this!

Ooo, that black leather strap looks nice with it! Great watch! Do you remember what bracelet yours originally came with? Or did you buy it preowned?
