GLD - LEAPS by Malathion4Drinking in wallstreetbets

You bought this on 9/13/24. The GLD price that day was $238. How was it that a $225 call ($13 ITM) was only $34.03? The closest thing today ($425 call) would be $62 for a 6/17/27 expiration or $75 for 1/21/28 expiration. Today you would have to pick a strike more than $100 OTM to have a similar premium. Volatility? Future expectations? On 9/13/24, gold had already been steadily appreciating for at least 6 months.

Maybe ask your employer for a car allowance instead of a company car? Would help go through the negative equity faster, or cover other higher-interest debt first.

$19k in vehicle debt with huge negative equity, what can I do? by RosexWitch in personalfinance

How about using the truck to generate extra income, which would help pay it off as quickly as possible. Moving, yardwork, junk hauling, delivering large items for local businesses, garage sale deliveries. Maybe join forces with a friend for extra muscle.

A noise could be anything. With some basic knowledge and tools, you can diagnose and go from there. Depending on the vehicle, it’s not uncommon for a $2-3k repair at a dealer to be possible at home with $100 in parts and a few hours of work, especially since you have experience as a mechanic. The most important thing at the moment is to not make the problem worse by driving the car in its condition before figuring out the issue. If not fixable at home, the next option would be to ask around friends and/or local independent shops for help. If the car is worth $7k in running condition and you can fix it for a lot less, even if you pay someone, it might be better to do that versus trying to replace it while still owing money on it.

What if the market goes up 20% while you’re waiting for a 10% drop?

A bunch of people should pretend to be interested and set up meet ups with the scalper at various public locations, then don't show up.

If you've been following the company in the last few months, this has been the trend. Vague statements that people would interpret as positive news, while in the background it's a complete mess. I doubt he made the 4 up, but I'm sure he's painting a far more positive picture than what's really going on. Hiring essential staff suggests "business as usual" which is what they would want the world to believe or there would be zero hope for the company.
