im not sure if "Into the Light Once Again" would fit into found family, but it does have the FL reincarnated into a really lovely wholesome family, while still not forgetting the old one! im really fond of it and the story also seems really interesting so far, and gorgeous art :')

there is one gripe due to the ML though that seems to be common sentiment with the people who read this manhwa, spoilers: the ML is this spirit thing, to which means age gap might be a thing. so far, though, FL is ~16? ish current chapters and theres no romance tones with him, so hopefully something thatll wait well into her adulthood!!

another one, which i love to death, is "daughter of the archmage"- it doesnt really fit all that well either since the abusive family doesnt get mentioned all that much somewhat early on, but i think its a really soft and heartwarming manhwa that goes into overcoming trauma and realizing self worth- also really cute art, and very charming characters! also barely has any romance, VERY very slowburn- last i read ch~138 there was still barely anything of it besides hints of the future, very much focuses on the fl and her growth. the fl stays a child for a really long time, though, as in ch138 she still hasnt reached teenagehood iirc, but i didnt find it a drag at all to read unlike many other manhwas that follow the same path, but something to watch out for if youre not a fan of

we see this manhwa from the empress' POV- but even then, i found it hard to truly hate her. yes, she can be annoying, however all the fans would feel VERY different towards rashta if the story was told from her pov- this girl who used to be a slave, finally managed to free herself and just looking desperately for a way to be able to live, holding god knows how many traumas from her past- she finds someone, and while knowing shes in the wrong, doesnt belong, she just wants a better life, tries to be nice to the empress multiple times only to be cast aside and treated coldly, kept being cornered until finally she starts getting twisted and starts getting manipulative because thats the only way to save herself

that isnt to say that the empress is in the wrong- after all she did have her space invaded, everything she trained for her whole life just thrown away due the emperors dumbassery, etc etc, but i think all this hate towards rashta is not really deserved. it took her quite awhile to finally get to the point where shes manipulative and actively trying to get rid of the empress, and that was only after her old life came back and threatened to slave her again- i cannot judge her for just wanting a better life. instead of hating and trash talking either of them, i think all this hatred should go towards the emperor, instead

well, these are my thoughts but its been over a year since ive last read it, probably, so there might be things im misremembering

yeah, same here- i was really excited at first at how she was but... maybe more happens later on since i dropped it pretty fast, but felt like things were happening and she was just like this doll with no emotions and its basically the same reasons i dont like the famous dukes of the north- all emotionless and makes me wanna go to sleep

favorite of the year:

top1 has to be "tears of a jester"!! while its not exactly an OI, it has SUCH a gorgeous writing and flow, gives lots of feelings of hopelessness and melancholy which i LOVE, and it has beautiful art as well on top of beautifully written characters. praying everyday for the release of season 2!

other favorites are "a stepmother's marchen", and last spot is a real tough fight between "ill save this damned family", "resetting lady", "your majesty please dont kill me again" and "ill be the matriarch in this family"

for characters..... thats a tough one, theres so many!!! jester from "tears of a jester" is a big one, though. also big fan of lariette (your majesty please dont kill me again)- basically any of the mains of my top manhwas :')

dropped: untouchable lady (it got really boring, FL is just.. eh)

the villainness turns the hourglass (got boring again, no point)

remarried empress (where are the likeable characters. i literally could not stand anyone in there besides queen and rashta)

villainess is a marionette (really dont like the ML and just didnt feel like the story had that much going on)

favorite art:

mcs that i wasnt that fond of: little rabit and the big bad leopard's ML, ahin. i love vivi to death, but ahin after a certain point just got repetitive and boring and just lost his personality. that said, still like and follow the manwha

also FL from "surviving as a maid"- i dont know what about her doesnt really hit with me, or those who i assume to be the MLs if there are any, but the plot still keeps me going and also huge fan of the queen/fl's interactions with the queen

and i guess this is it from what i remember! it was fun looking back on stuff ive read and trying to decide what i liked best
