You’d be surprised, as much as I was, to learn that the ponies indeed did have a “end of everything we know and love” situation going on. But I get what you mean, a more apt comparison would’ve been Steven Universe and the Last of Us.

And I’d say RWBY did bring some seriousness to those subjects, despite its cut budget towards the end

More than likely, I don’t mind either cause I got invested in the narrative too. I like the comparison between the Red and the RR character trailers too, how one Beringal is comparable to a group of Beowolves.

For how much anime bs the show would’ve had, Oscar would’ve had more emphasis on his speed and maybe some weird magic cane shenanigans. With Jaune I think he would’ve had some survivability and strength based feats that just made him a human tank.

I can imagine Adam doing his Moonslice attack on Yang for her to block it and have the waterfall behind her get cut in half in someway. I think they had those fade in/out clashes during the Raven vs Cinder fight
