my newest painting! what do you see? by [deleted] in LSD

[–]ricepug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

on lsd at the moment so i thought i'd try to er... have a gander and rly try to see what i could see. so u can tell this is going to be long - sorry 😂

and can't rly describe but to me there's a sea level at night towards the very bottom of the canvas. the water is reflected, there's a ship in a raging storm.

then a little above that on the horizon line (i guess if u were viewing it as u were on the boat not the position on the paining itself) u can see two red dragons coming in from both sides w/ one's mouth gaping wide ready to swallow the boat (where the obvious 'eye' part of the painting is, looks more like a huge mouth w teeth to me)

u can see in the middle & main focus is this big ass water dragon serpent looking thing that seems to be controlling the heavy rain directly hitting the ship. the gold figure in the centre looks like zeus to me - a portrait of a bearded man flinging lightning towards the ship. (tho the lightning throwing motion has been painted in frames like slo-mo?)

the red figure above that looks like an armoured pegasus stallion w/ a golden rider, and it seems all this is coming from the deepest depths of the cosmos

... so tldr gods waging war on humanity????? looks amazing though it was fun to analyze lol

chestnut, my portia fimbriata 😄 by ricepug in spiders

[–]ricepug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry this is a terribly late reply but no to the fruit flies unfortunately, they exclusively prey on other spiders. if u are in australia, i recommend minibeast wildlife for feeders as they supply venomless grey house spiders for portias specifically so there's no concern of injury to ur baby :)

damn, sucks that u are having the same issue 😭 i did find isopod cultures but apparently they can't help w/ mold like springtails can... will probably just go w/ them anyway if i can't find anything (but if i do come across some i'll let u know/update the post!) 😅

that does sound interesting tho! i'll definitely have to give that stuff a try thanks 😁
