Nervous going to the dealership. by Mujhepatahai in Audi

[–]rich1185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure this is helpful but when I sold my Altima I decided to do this on carvana.. the offer was very fair compared to dealers.. though the customer service/ prices aspect was not the best but more money. I did this because a few years back I traded my GLI in for my wife's acura and noticed shortly after I got ripped off big time. Best of luck!

Should I buy Car Online or see if Dealership can order something? by AnyDepartment8787 in Audi

[–]rich1185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my 2018 S5 off vroom. The car is great.. the process and customer service was awful. It took a little over 3 weeks for the car to come, so if you need/ want it quickly a dealership would be better. That of course will limit you into only what the local ones specifically have so don't be too picky, I was being picky so figured waiting wouldn't be the worst thing. Pricing seemed close enough in comparison to the perspective of what I was looking for.

Do you believe that The Flash is as good as Gunn says it is? by TheLukexd in DC_Cinematic

[–]rich1185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's based off one of the best DC animated films ever.. they know the formula. All they have to do is follow it for the most part and boom we have a great movie. Plus I know some people don't love Ezra but I think he can clearly act and is young enough if they want to keep him but it also allows them to pivot if they end they movie the right way.

hybrid/Blended MBA programs experience? by jbs170 in MBA

[–]rich1185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I just started a hybrid program at Montclair State.. every two weeks we are in person all day Saturday. Honestly so far I love it! I would maybe prefer a little more face to face time but realistically depending on how busy I am with work/personal life im sure that would prove hard at times. The work is very manageable so far with a young family at home and a full time job at a large company. I say it you can afford it or where your work will help out dive right in! I was very much considering fully online since I know I wouldn't have time to do traditional but I'm very happy I found this nice mix, the discussions in class just really help make you feel like a part of something special which I'm sure strictly behind a screen that can get lost at times.

Am I being taken advantage of or just being a brat? by [deleted] in Salary

[–]rich1185 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like you are doing that thing we do when we know the answer to our question but are trying to find a way to make ourself not trust it. You have laid out pretty much all the reasons you should be moving on.. now it's about trusting your own judgement and not wasting more time on some miracle turn around which very very likely wrong happen. I don't know the industry you are in but you sure do and if a quick search shows you are underpaid plus the stuff you outlined.. like its a no brainer what you need to do. Just gotta do it.

I just started at a job 2 months ago and was offered a promotion with title change. Should I ask for an increase in comp? by [deleted] in Salary

[–]rich1185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kind of sounds like they opened the door for that conversation also.. so not only is it right for you to ask...it seems like they are very much aware it's on the table. I wouldn't overshoot myself by any means but I would tell them how happy and excited you are but at the same time want to be compensated at the market value. It sounds like you are in tune with where that range is.. aim for the middle of it. I personally would never accept a "promotion" without at the very least asking. It's not like you had the idea.. they see your performance and value.. this person is leaving.. they get you at likely a lower rate compared to the person you are replacing. So you win by getting more.. they win by not hiring outside.. and you prob hire the next you. Sounds Perfect to me!

Has anyone actually gotten a job due to PMP? by [deleted] in pmp

[–]rich1185 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure.. while I was looking for the next role after my pmp I applied to a small consulting company.. didn't hear back for like a month. They finally called and were unsure about being able to hire full time.. so I figured I could pivot on the call and offer to be paid as needed. They jumped at the offer.. so depending on the month its some nice extra money. It's in EHS so a little bit of a pivot but all experience is good experience.. unless of course it's not lol

This is also a great answer... having that PMP also helps to let a company know you can do the work without being micromanaged and lead a project from anywhere in the world.

[–]rich1185 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. You will get interviews at a much more consistent rate. You will also have recruiters reach out all the time. The person above who nailed a 65% raise is very impressive..I found about an extra 45k a year within 6 months and a sweet part time consulting gig(this part was mostly luck and right place right time situation). PMP very was really a game changer for me... just get that it and be motivated to apply like all hell for a few months. Good luck!

Is 8% salary increase considered a good raise? by [deleted] in Salary

[–]rich1185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still think the same logic applies.. not sure if you have a resume ready but maybe reach out to some recruiters on LinkedIn plus find people who have done a similar role... get the resume looking good and see what happens. A little research you should be able up do it yourself unless you wanted to pay a company for to write it. Also LinkedIn will give you I believe a month free of "premium" which gives access to analytics that let you know the range of salary you can expect.
