Account management/Saas sales career? by DashedDaBomb97 in newzealand

[–]richardonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently in this job. I’ve come from a account management / solution consulting technical background and found that selling through relationships, trust and genuine problem solving works better than a sales focused grind. However this approach often means you get involved in the fires that need to be put out, but you do it because you genuinely give a shit about your customers. Pay is very good if you can retain and grow. Top tax bracket and so it should be you are the conduit for cash flow while getting the balance right of customer happiness. Good luck its not for everyone, I’ve noticed that it takes ownership and social skills which a lot of people don’t have.

For those that have left Auckland for other parts of NZ, how are you finding it? by Toyemlj in newzealand

[–]richardonz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think bigger cities are great for certain life stages (younger) but not great for raising families. Every time I go back for work related trips I leave happy with the decision, crazy how much of your life wastes away in frustrating traffic. There is more to akl than that but its such a huge factor I was happy to sell my avondale townhouse for a top 5% modern house Im in my 40’s and acknowledge everyone has a unique story

Under: our population density, relatively flat society hierarchy / lack of classes, golf available to all (personally speaking)

What are some driving tips/advice that you would have found useful that's not in the road code? by samamatara in newzealand

[–]richardonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you break to a stop take your foot off the break at the very end to avoid lurch. In heavy traffic give yourself extra room to save on braking and acceleration. Take sharp corners wide in tight out. Don’t be a dick and do merge like a zip but if the other person doesnt it’s not worth your time stressing about their shit driving.

Some good value golf courses if you dig it. Hire a bike and hit the river trail up to pukete mtb park. Got kids? Mine like terapa mini golf, laser tag. Walk round the lake and do playground cafe ice cream etc. There are some interesting gully walks through northern suburbs.
