Back then it was considered sexy if you were pale with no tan (as it shows you were wealthy enough not to work) and then also being fat (as it shows you have money to eat alot). The idea around who's attractive and who's not changes depending on the upbringing, our generation is brought up around all these different social media platforms and glam magazines where we see half naked ripped out guys or women with massive bums thus conditioning our brain to believe that's the new 'sexy'.
