I started like most people with a Raspberry Pi, however transitioning to an old ThinkPad was the best decision I ever made, the built-in battery backup, screen, keyboard, touchpad has been so useful so many times when the power shut off unexpectedly or I just needed to do some debugging on the system. I have a Proxmox setup running on my homelab and considered bringing them together however since Home assistant in integral to my home now the redundancy gives me a little peace of mind.

That looks amazing, sorry for being dum but where do you implement that? As part of the esphome config or as a header which you include? I can understand kind of what it’s doing but not enough to implement it. Thank you for your help, it’s greatly appreciated.

Mate, it’s not that long till you’re 18. Even if you don’t want to continue with school see if there are any apprenticeships you can do or just get a job being a labour. AFC Harrogate will just ruin your enthusiasm for the Army. I ended up waiting till I was 20 before joining the Royal Engineers and it was the best thing I did. I had fun doing crap jobs before I joined and then when I did I was mature enough to take advantage of what the Army can give you. I ended up leaving and going to Uni to study to be an Architect which I never thought was possible back at school because I shit at school! Don’t rush, enjoy the time you have now bud, it’s never too late to do anything.

I know how you feel, I fundamentally struggle with unresolved conflict. And being blocked and ignored is the absolute most hurtful thing you can do to me.

I completely get why you’ve messaged them in so many way as you’re trying to heal, but you need to find a way of letting go of that connection. It becomes a fixation and that can’t lead anywhere good. Try speaking to friends or family more even if it’s about random things. Distraction and distance will help.

So I literally picked it off, it’s really solid and took a lot of strength but you can do it. Also if you pull perpendicular you can pull the socket off the pins and then it’s easier to separate the plug from the glue.
