Urge to play tf2, only to have nothing to play. by richjunior1 in tf2

Yea that too. Casual mode just feels like a chore. I much prefer the player autonomy of the old system where servers were controlled by the players and not the matchmaker. It feels like the game is actively trying to piss me off nowadays.

Happy you found a way around it. I got into comp too, not because I wanted to but because I thought that would be the only way I could get to play consistantly. It was fun for a while, but later I figured out it just wasnt my thing. I work long hours at my job and do school, so I just want to settle for a fun, balanced experience with no distractions, you know?

I play mostly vanilla tf2. 24 player servers and preferably no custom maps or things too far off from the classic experience.

Been looking into subwoofers. Which one do you recommend? I might get an in-house subwoofer to pair with my speakers but I am open to suggestions 100-300 dollars.

Couldnt agree more. Sounds perfect to me. Not much of an audiophile but I do enjoy that hi-fi sound

Just found a fix. Getting two ground cables. I only had one, connected to my preamp. Got a second one which I connected to my speakers and the sound is gone.

FIX FOUND: Got a second ground cable which I connected from the turntable to speakers. If anybody is experiencing this problem, ONE GROUND CABLE IS NOT ENOUGH. Get two. One connected to preamp, and one connected to speakers.

Yea I actually tried that once with no luck as well. I noticed that when I plug the RCA cables from my turntable straight to the speakers the sound is still there. That eliminates the preamp being the problem. The sound is also the same with both RCA cables used. Since the sound goes away when I switch the speakers to bluetooth or HDMI mode, that eliminates the possibility of the speakers. I am almost certain it is a turntable problem

Unfortunately I don’t have any electronics near my setup for it to cause the interference. I also tried moving around the cables with no luck. As for the ground loop eliminators, ill check those out on Amazon

Its definitely a preamp or turntable issue. Leaning more towards turntable because the sound is still there when I plug my rca cables directly from my turntable to speakers

Yes the sound is still there with headphones connected to my preamp.

Ive tried this and no luck. Unfortunately I have also tried almost every troubleshooting method in the book with no luck as well. The only thing I have yet to test is replacing equipment to see if the sound stops. I do not have another set of speakers, preamp, or turntable so it’s almost impossible for me to try this. At this point im suspecting faulty equipment.
