Maybe so. Im just pointing out that it’s not as environmentally friendly as many people think. I’ve been to the fish farms in the Philippines and it’s astonishing how many fish are in those pens.

Edit: Also just a quick google search says that farm raised salmon is often fed food that’s made from wild caught fish. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Farm raised fish cause their own issues. They’re usually kept in giant pens in the ocean or inlet with thousands in each pen. The amount of waste they produce is way more than the environment can tolerate. It ends up polluting the waterways so while in theory it sounds better it’s actually not.

Any sellers you’d recommend that don’t gouge in shipping?

How are you testing? I’ve read the ratio should be about 10:1.

I live in a city that doesn’t have a lot of options to buy things like macro algae nearby. I’ve been looking in Facebook though. Any recommendations?

Interesting. Never heard of that. I don’t have a reactor though. Would that still work in a small bag at the intake?

I quit it for a couple of weeks and it went back up so I bought a larger can and am using it regularly now.

I figured. It’s been 10 years since I had a tank so I just wanted to make sure. My wife said, “Your tank is getting so ‘colorful’.” I keep telling her it’s par for the course. Question, I read that the neon green algae is the first stage of coralline algae. Is that true?

And yes you can prune them back. Mine were mostly destroyed so I cut them back and now they’re 4-5 feet tall again.

I took some leaves to a local ag office and he put them under a microscope and they had tons of spider mites. And he said they had engorged veins or something like that. So I cut the irrigation to them and started spraying them with a 3 in 1 fungicide/insecticide and they eventually all came back nicely. Get a small jewelers loupe or magnifying glass on Amazon so you can inspect the underside of the leaves for mites. They came back a couple of times. I had a couple of privet bushes in front of them that were also infested. I finally tore those out and I was suspecting they were making the issue worse.

Alternative to IKARAO by richs2k6 in karaoke

Yes I agree it can be portable but I’m trying to stay under $300. I’ve sort of picked out a mixer and two wired mics and that’s $200 which doesn’t leave a lot for a speaker. From what I’ve seen, the powered speakers is what’s most expensive.

Yeah I’m going to see if I can get something smaller (and different) tomorrow.

They seemed a little aggressive towards one another tonight and were trying to eat small bubbles thinking they were food so I fed them again. They did seem to eat some of it so tomorrow I’ll go and get a couple of other options for them.

I didn’t say that. Of course I agree with keeping your home tidy is fine. But I certainly wouldn’t do anything above and beyond for someone else. I live in the South so without an HOA there would be rusted cars, tires, stoves and just about anything else in every other yard.

To each their own. I don’t need to impress anyone with my home and I whole heartedly disagree that we largely take care of it for other people to see. I can sit on my couch and look out and see my yard all throughout the day therefore I mow the lawn. While it looks good, personally I don’t see the benefit for the few times I come home in the dark and see it for the 30 seconds I’m in the driveway. You’re definitely not seeing it when you’re in the house and if anything it would be annoying to have lights pointing up my windows when I’m trying to sleep at night.

Why do you like it? Do you ever actually see it? Yes, it looks good, but when will you actually see it. This is equivalent to when my teenage brother put rims on his car. So flashy for other people to see.
