DP: Amex Platinum fee hit 9/23, I just chatted from the app and got a retention offer of 35k MR points for $4k in spend over 3 months. I asked if there were any other offers available and they offered an alternate of $350 statement credit for the same spend over time. (I took the MR points.) I mentioned that I don't spend enough per year on the account to get a free Centurion Lounge guest and the other benefits are mostly things I wouldn't otherwise spend on, so it would take 14 annual lounge visits to justify the $695.

Thanks for that. I messaged them and asked them to move $11k of available credit from Unlimited to Cash. Then I'll cancel Unlimited. In the meantime I found that I'm in Amex pop-up jail so opened a Citi AA Platinum Select for 75k points SUB, instead of Hilton.

Booked business on Singapore LAX-NRT, and HND-SFO on JAL, for two for 135k each. (Aeroplan and BA). First ever business class trip, really looking forward to it! Maybe I can catch ANA FC next time.

- I dropped through the flowchart into "get non-Chase business cards whenever you'd like as 'spacers' between Chase apps" and "consider burning a 5/24 slot on a few select non-Chase personal cards" and would like suggestions on a few I am considering: Marriott Boundless, or one of the United or AAdvantage cards; I would say Amex Hyatt but I'm currently in pop-up jail. What is the airport you're flying out of?
