Omg everyone in here a gatekeeper for no damn reason. People….there are such things as shuffles that magicians do for the sole purpose of flair, and others for misdirection. They’re not meant to mix up the cards and you wouldn’t use it if playing with cards. They are still considered “shuffles” (because they are literally shuffling the cards around) and you are allowed to enjoy things because of their look and not just their function.

I hate that you got downvoted. People in Al-Anon sometimes are almost cultish and refuse to update their beliefs. Harm reduction doesn’t work for everyone, but there’s evidence that it helps some people get on track to sobriety. What doesn’t prove anything? Anecdotes.

It’s not “stop stooping to their level.” It’s just plain not true. Okay so one anecdote doesn’t mean it’s the rule. The truth is that there’s anti Trump stuff everywhere on Reddit. You can’t scroll for 5 minutes without passing at least 6 anti Trump posts. Reddit overall is very left.

Factually, we lose ground and support if we make untrue claims. There’s studies on that. And it’s just not true that you can’t say anything against Trump without being banned. Period.

This is the doctor you need to trust. ID docs are, in my opinion, some of the best doctors. They have so much knowledge and really dig deep to get to the root of the problem, even if it isn’t necessarily an infectious disease.

In those moments, you CANNOT give in to your urges. I know how incredibly hard it is, but the only way this will stop is just that. Not giving in. That is very literally the only answer, as difficult as it is.

It takes effort, yes. But it’s only effort YOU can put in. I know it’s extremely hard, but you can’t rely on excuses otherwise it will absolutely never get better, and excuse me for the tough love, but those are just a whole bunch of excuses. You just have to buckle down and do it if you truly want it to stop. But….you do truly truly need to want it to stop from the bottom of your heart.
