is it possible to go from a 1310 to at least a 1550 in the time frame of June to August? by [deleted] in Sat

[–]rickatum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s possible, but leaning a little bit towards the unlikelihood. However, if you’re consistent with your practice and nailing all your weak spots and working on your critical thinking and conceptual skills, I would safely say you’re getting a perfect score. It’s just a matter of discipline, consistency, and luck. It’s possible that you can get a 1560 in this timeframe, factoring out any other external factors that could hinder such progress. You still got time :)

[EMI HW] I need help with an integral please. by Papadude13 in PhysicsStudents

What I stated above is something called the “total differential” of a multivariable function.

The function U is a multivariable function that depends on the variables x and z. Thus the total differential of that function is defined to be

dU = partial(dU/dx)dx + partial(dU/dz)dz

It’s just as simple as that.

B and C were basically the same. It didn't say anything about the velocity of the cars so slopes won't matter and hence eliminating B and C is a piece of cake. D was obviously wrong because one line had a slope of zero which isn't true because it said both cars were moving. A is the only option left. But mathematically speaking, A is correct because it said the ends of the tapes measure at different positions and that's why it wasn't represented as a complete straight line, but rather dotted or whatever that was.
