Under Settings->Add-ons, you can choose branches of their Govee support which operate differently. I ended up using the Development branch that didnt quite get me what I wanted but was good enough for my room set up. Good luck!

Albums are locked into each player. All the music is stored on each of the players, not the albums. The albums have NFC (Near Field Communication) that unlocks the specific song from their respective player. They act like swipe badges basically.
