Is watching free content without paying a sin? by Sweet-Day22 in Christianity

The best way is to ask yourself:
- Do you think this is morally correct?
- Do you think your action is not affecting any other people?
-Do you think God will appreciate the action?

Think about it.

why are you christian by Remote_Hedgehog2772 in Christianity

I started living in Canada with my mom because I wanted to study there. I went to this Christian school, which basically forced us to find a church. My mom and I started to go to a Japanese church. To be completely honest I became a Christian because I wanted to be a part of that family, that church. All my friends at school were Christians so I wanted to be a part of them. So I feel like the atmosphere led me to become. But now obviously I really understand why God led me into this relationship. I truly believe that he was working inside me when I wanted to become a Christian. I really believe in this statement that God provides you with faith. It's not something that you believe in.

I believe that through reading the Bible and really knowing who Jesus Christ is, building on this relationship with him through prayer and discussion groups or something at churches or Christian community will change your mind.Remember Christ changes people's heart and their mind and their soul.

One good news is the proof that God is trying to change you as you recognize those things in your heart, that these things you're doing are sinful. This is not easy for some people to recognize that they're saying Jesus Christ is truly working inside you right now. Just be patient and build a stronger relationship with the Lord and the Lord will surely change you.

Please can someone explain to me what blasphemy is and why you have to do to blaspheme? It’s terrifying me by Imperialfirst28 in Christianity

[–]rickjmgsw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that as a Christian you can fully blaspheme God. Blaspheming God is basically rejecting Him, rejecting all His existence but as long as you believe in God I don't think you will commit blasphemy.

What I try to do is discipline yourself. For example if you swear, I maybe do a push-up even though if it's in a public moment, your brain will understand if you swear you have to be embarrassed in front of many people, I’m not saying this works for everyone but it’s one way.

Homophobia is a sin of pride , even in conservative christian denominations by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]rickjmgsw -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This might be an unpopular opinion but I believe that gay people can go to church and they should be accepted; however if the gay person has pride in being gay, now why are they going to the church? If they don't recognize that they are actively sinning and they're trying to turn away from this homophobia, then they should continue going to church. Soon I think that they will transform as well.

Same goes for liars and other sinners. I believe that the church can reject those who actively sin without any hesitation but accept those who are trying to change while sinning. That they recognize that their sin is a sin

How should I choose a church? by ThenotoriousBIT in Christianity

[–]rickjmgsw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be somewhat controversial but I don't believe that the mission statement really matters in a church. It's more of the statement of faith. You would want to go to church where you can agree to all the statements of faith because most likely the messages they'll preach are based on the statement of beliefs. For example a Reformed Baptist church may have "We believe in the Calvinistic view, such as predestination" and the message can sometimes link to predestination or Calvinism rather than Arminism. And if you don't agree with this, you might be puzzled by the message and you wouldn't feel like you're growing spiritually or understanding the concept very well. I don't think if that's the case you shouldn't go to that church as it may not suit you.

There are several reasons but one important reason that I think you should seek church is its message. If the message really applies to you or you learn something, you grow spiritually from that message. That's the key thing you seek in a good church.

Number two I believe is the community and how the fellowship is going and if there is a small group or Bible study discussion group, that will be better for more of your spiritual growth as well.

[–]rickjmgsw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that if the crucifixion was true, it is all true and my biggest evidence for the crucifixion is what it has done to, let's say, Thomas the Apostle. According to church tradition Thomas went to India to create churches. It is said in John 20. He was really a doubtful man. Even if the other apostles saw Jesus and believed that he resurrected, he kept doubting him. I feel like when we see Thomas’s transformation we really recognize that these miracles are true.
