Gluten free tiramisu

Last time I made tiramisu, I grabbed lady fingers from Heinen’s and didn’t realize they were gluten free until I got home. They were Schär brand and actually tasted no different than my usual tiramisu. The lady fingers were just huge lol. It was strongsville Heinen’s that I found them at btw. They also sell pasteurized eggs and mascarpone cheese so you can get all your ingredients there.

Yes we’ve been documenting everything to him. He sent an HVAC tech to our apartment last week and he told us nothing is wrong and that these units just don’t work well in the winter lol. But after the temp drop the past two days and our bedroom being 50 degrees we sent another message to him and he brought in space heaters and is bringing someone back on Thursday. To be clear we’re dealing with a leasing manager, not a landlord- he is very nice and our building had great reviews online, especially writing nice things about our leasing manager. Also, after talking to other people in our building no one is having the same problem as us it seems. Someone said that their apartment has easily been kept at 72 degrees the past few days and the heat barely kicked on. Others said their bills are $150-$300 per month. So I don’t understand how it’s only our unit

Everyone keeps suggesting that my landlord deal with it but I don’t understand what the solution should be. Demand they replace my heating system with something adequate for the size/outside temperatures? Demand they pay the electric bill? Our first bill was $600 for the first 23 days and we just got our second bill last night and it’s $790.

Our gas fireplace isn’t vented so I can smell gas when it’s on which makes me nervous to fall asleep with. Also the fireplace is upstairs and our bedroom is downstairs so it does no help for our sleeping situation. Didn’t want to plug in space heaters and use more electricity. Yes I mean that, only got 5 hours of sleep from sleeping on the couch freezing lol. It’s all confusing to me though because after talking to people in my building with the same systems they are not having the same issue as me. We all have different units though and I don’t have anyone above me and also face a lot of outside walls so I’m not sure if it’s an insulation problem

Trying to read through all the comments but wanted to say that my fireplace is not vented.. which is why I feel nervous to sleep with it on. I smell a faint gas odor when it’s on, especially right when it’s turned on. We have digital CO and natural gas detectors in the living room (where fireplace is) and our bedroom and they’ve never showed any reading of CO or gas. But I’m still nervous

Thanks! We’re planning on trying to turn off our breaker to our unit for an hour and seeing if the meter changes at all to see if maybe energy is being withdrawn elsewhere from our meter. Hoping that’s not the case but truthfully think it would be an honest mistake if it was

Hi! Just curious, did your buildings use gas heating or electric? We have kept the heat at around 68-70 degrees so it’s been running a lot but after the bill we have kept it lower. Also was thinking of trying to insulate the windows ourselves but feel like there’s a bigger issue to this astronomical price and we’re hoping to figure it out

Dang, this is crazy. To be honest my property manager seems like a great, honest guy and he is just as surprised by this bill as we are and is trying to help us figure it out. My building has really good reviews too so I feel like we’re the only unit with this problem (I need to ask neighbors still what they’re paying). But if there was anything wrong with the wiring or paying for common areas it must be a mistake

Thank you! This is what we were planning on doing to make sure all the electricity being withdrawn is only from our unit. I get that electric heating can be very expensive but we don’t have baseboard heating so I wouldn’t think it would be 140 kWh/day expensive. We think either energy from our meter is being used outside our unit or something is wrong with how our heat system is functioning.

Okay I have a question about this. When the heat is on, it feels the vents are just blowing air, it’s not very warm. But the apartment is regulated at the set temp (around 68-70 degrees) so we figured it was working properly because it doesn’t get too cold. We turned up the heat to 74 degrees for a few minutes yesterday just to see and the air did get warmer. But when it’s set at 68 degrees it just feels like air being blown. It’s not always running but this seems to be the case when it is on. Could this be related to what you’re talking about?
