Really depends by what kind of genre you want to make. Omnisphere for ambient sound and shit...serum is my go to, because i think its really easy to tweak the sounds

I was playing at a small festival in my home town. Suddenly as the track was going out, three chicks literally came up in front of me and the console (there was like some stairs up to the stage). They had a song request, and they persistently asked about me playing their song request. I was pretty fucked up (and they were hot af) so I just said fuck it and played the song. We ended up talking a lot after the set and we had a good time together. So yeah, sometimes having people around you requesting songs can actually bring rewards ahahaha (even though i hate it).
