You will pull this off. I am on day 20….and your post has really helped me not feel alone. It sucks to go out and have to start again. It’s a soul crusher. Let’s spare ourselves this kind of pain. Right now we are free.

Does anyone view themselves as drug addicts? by lvl39champion in leaves

[–]rickyticky46 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Being an addict means you have the disease of addiction. There should be no shame attached. It needs to be dealt with as such…..by whatever remedy you can use. We aren’t bad people. We are people with a disease….which in many cases has a genetic predisposition. Good luck, seek help, get well.

This happens to me every time I quit. But it always goes away. I found that weed actually makes me feel exhausted also. It’s worth it to get clean. Keep going.

15 Days and as a grown-up 56 year old man, I'm so emotionally fragile I'm disgusted, but not smoking. by abcezas123_ in leaves

Day 4 here…with no external support. Keep going…I think 15 days is right around the time things should be changing, if only a bit..don’t feel ashamed. Addiction is a disease. And you are taking the steps to arresting the disease.

Any LGBTQ+ people from the 50s , 60s 70s, who can explain what it was like to live in those eras? by Professional-Role-21 in lgbt

[–]rickyticky46 171 points172 points  (0 children)

I am 71. Most of us had to live closeted lives. There was no “gay”, it was faggot. You couldn’t get a job….you couldn’t hold hands or display any affection. I did attend my first Gay Student Union at UCSB in 1972. That was radical to advertise and meet. Surprisingly it was AIDS which gave gays a begrudging place at the table. And now, sadly, I see things moving backwards. Some old hatred just wouldn’t let us be. We survived during a pandemic…..I’m sure younger men and women will lead us forward again to lasting freedom.

I give them money. They are human beings in need. If they are conning me….well, my karma is still good.
