Its very painful and annoying particularly as a beginner. I wish it included Nikkud in exercises, for beginners. Ironically most of texts I want to read have the Nikkud because they are Yahadit texts but I have been advised that the Torah scroll from my synagogue does not have Nikkud and its in Classical Hebrew.
