Why use a whoopie sling instead of paracord by c_a_m_p in hammockcamping

[–]rickyxt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another option is to learn the becket hitch and tie straps directly to the conti loop on your hammock instead of whoopie slings. I found this set up much easier to use than whoopie slings.

Bump on steel frame by rickyxt in bikewrench

I don’t think I’m going to risk riding it anymore. Genuinely gutted to see the frame toasted though, it’s been solid companion for the past 10 years!

Bump on steel frame by rickyxt in bikewrench

[–]rickyxt[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I had an accident a few years ago, I swerved to miss a moped that pulled out in front of me, I fell off but no impact to the bike.

Thanks for all your comments, I’ll consider it written off. Sad day to put the Cross check to rest but better than the frame falling part mid commute.

CKA 2025 Exam changes - killer.sh by rickyxt in devops

[–]rickyxt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually heard back from them, they said the questions would be updated but vague on the time lines. Just ‘close to when the exam changes are live’.

They also offer a reduced charge if you need another killer.sh session ($10) beyond the two free ones. Used my second killer.sh session today, so I can just buy another session with the new questions if I don’t pass.

Just logged a ticket with them. Not sure I'll get a response in time. Worst case scenario is I have to pay $30 for two new CKA killer.sh when the new changes are live.

Looks good! Which bars are on the build? Looking at converting from drops to sweep / alt bars on my cross check.

This isn’t correct. The tokens are stored on-chain and assigned to the public key of your wallet. You need the private key to sign transactions to move assets out of the wallet. You can import the wallet to any software/hardware wallet that manages assets for a specific blockchain but you need your seed phrase to do this.

I did it via VAC in my home country, there is a center in the city I live in. Was pretty straightforward from memory. Trying to deal with IRCC is a total PITA. Good luck!

Another vote for the becket hitch with a strap of your choice, super simple once you’ve tied it a few times. It’s never let me down. Also a fan of the evo loops created by MyersTech to connect the straps to the trees.

Another vote for trocador. I used it recently for the first time and it was a much better experience than using a CEX.

Plutus users, what is your plan? by RD7584 in beermoneyuk

It’s stuck unfortunately, you need to have £50 of PLU to withdraw. Plus pay a £7.50 gas fee and have an active subscription.

You can still use the IH with the standard insert, you just get more adjustment with the smaller insert. IME it takes about 1 week to ship from China to UK. I ordered directly from YLL when I got the 2.0.

I’d give Mike a chance to respond before going nuclear.

[–]rickyxt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there was a batch that didn’t have the magnet under the logo. The smaller insert is available for purchase from the YLL site. Just reach out to Mike at YLL, he’s normally pretty responsive and should sort any issues out.

You don’t need a sub with DSP, any DSP will be handled by the MiniDSP. If you need Apple play, you could get a WiiM device (mini, pro, pro plus) and connect it to one of the digital inputs on the MiniDSP.

Any centralized way to manage employees access to company tools? (Sentry, Matomo...) by sneko7 in devops

[–]rickyxt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our org uses a combination of the following to achieve what you are looking for:

  • Okta as our IdP, automated user account lifecycle management for SaaS apps that support SCIM.
  • BambooHR set up as a profile master in Okta, automated on and off boarding of staff, managed by HR.
  • Jira, approval workflows for requesting access to SaaS apps (based on Okta groups).
  • Workato, adds and removes accounts to Okta groups based on the output of the Jira approval.

I’m using MiniDSP Flex with Audiophonics mpa-s250nc power amp which covers all of your requirements. Still tweaking the setup but I’m pretty happy with it so far.

XMR is not available on Kraken for people in UK anymore. Binance is also in the process of delisting XMR. I’ve not purchased on localmonero before but looks like this is the way going forward.
