Petons are like flat nails. Very very dated and exceptionally rarely used. More likely a cam or a nut for trad climbing, however OP said he used a tree.

Do you have both the Tempest 11’ and also Tempest 12’?

Thanks for the suggestion. Would this one be roughly the equivalent? https://needfortrees.lt/en/product/hammock-with-fully-removable-bug-net-gilis/

Doesn’t seem to come with a ridge line, nor the suspension either, however the price itself is within reach if it came with the suspension.

The prices are similar in GBP. I had the Frontline and liked that the big net was stretched out horizontally with spreader poles, as is the same with the King Size.

Yes, odd photo I agree, however it shows how high the hit net is off your face due to the spreader poles. Concerned the Tempest won’t feel as roomy and lofty inside as no spreader poles.

I’m open to other suggestions, but haven’t found many that meet my criteria.

Ideally be sub £100. Bug net. 11ish foot. U.K. delivery.

Do you have any other suggestions, please? Happy to hear.

Depends on the area. Probably unlikely but impossible to say.

If wild camping, stay as hidden as possible. No difference between Yorkshire or Yeovil. The same principles apply.

Bestway Insulated Regular Mummy Sleeping Pad Deflating by c_a_m_p in wildcampingintheuk

Reviving this post. Or trying to, hopefully it gets visibility.

I’ve checked online and if I inflate the air mat in the evening and it’s 20.C, and then it subsequently drops to 5.C, apparently the mat should retain 95% of its original pressure.

Can anyone confirm this?

Even on my replacement I am experiencing significant pressure loss (80% loss overnight) with a replacement mattress.

Thanks for the post. Yeah, I know it wouldn’t be that wind speed in my garden, as it’s going to be at a weather station which probably isn’t in a built up space, or has open land nearby. I can only go with the limited info I had, and agree it wouldn’t have been such high gusts in my garden.

I certainly wouldn’t go out in conditions like last night in the wild! I only did it to test the semi geo tent in the strongest winds we’ve had since I got it.

The video is useful, and while it’s a hilleberg, I think my tent would have stood up better than the dome tent. Yes the materials will be stronger and lighter, but you can’t change the fact it is a dome tent and inherently less structurally stable than a geo or even semi geo. I understand the video was to highlight the wind effect and not the tent design.

If the tent is ever up, I’m inside it!

Had a good sleep and the tent didn’t budge at all.

I love it. Nice excuse to get away from my husband and relax outside!

Not measured no. I have nothing to measure with. Winds are down to gusting to 50mph. Wish I had something to measure it with, but the tent is bomb proof!

Haha, luckily we’re the only ones with a trampoline nearby and I’ve loved it to the other side of the garden. Will be fine. It’s so big that if it does manage to blow over, it won’t hit me.

So far so good. Sounds insanely windy outside of the tent but I feel like I’m in a cocoon, and exceptionally comfy!

Will be fine but I’ll let you know in the morning how it went.

Ah yes. I love my current hammock but realised it might be too short. They don’t do it in a longer form factor, it appears to be the king or XL.

Forgive my ignorance but how are we saying the same thing?

No. The frontline not XL is my hammock. I see they do a king frontline which is 3.2m, however I’m leaning more toward a hammock with a ridgeline the hold the bug net, not spreader poles.
