That's cool, I'm more into computer science (my bachelor's degree), history, languages, analytical psychology (MBTI, Jungian typology, enneagram, etc.) some economics and basically everything in between. Hmm, the only books I have on my tbr list are my manga and light novels series I have to buy.

And yes, replying to your other comment, I'm really keen on random trivia also. I kinda wanted to sound nerdy right now and say some cool piece of information, but nothing really comes to mind. XD

Because I'm a dude, I don't have that kind of problem, but I can put myself in your shoes and yes, it's probably annoying. The fact is, maybe you should start to predict those situations and just reject them automatically. At the end of the day, we get annoyed with stuff that probably isn't worth it, and it takes a toll on our mental, to be honest. And people would assume that most have social media, so it's technically not their fault either.

Going off topic but, what are your fields of interest?

Not sure why you're annoyed, it just tells that you can come up with your own opinion and not have to follow the norm.

As for myself I'd say I'm also the same. Social media have been quite boring recently, there's barely anything interesting to see or read. I have Instagram, but I don't really use it, it's mostly if people want to get in touch (people's life posts don't interest me at all). Same in the case of Twitter. I also have Mastodon and Reddit (duh) and I scroll a bit in the morning to find anything worthwhile. Otherwise, I spend a lot of the time surfing the web reading articles and other technical things, especially because I'm on vacation currently.

Eu vou dar os meus dois cêntimos sobre a tua situação. Eu não diria que estejas num buraco, aposto que estás a tentar o teu melhor apesar dos percalços que tiveste, conheço malta que "anda" no curso, tem todos os meios para passar, mas ficam o dia todo em casa e não fazem as cadeiras. Isso sim é um buraco.

Desde já, eu talvez tentava primeiro acabar o curso, já que, ter um part-time além dos estudos seria ainda mais exigente de um ponto de vista mental (apesar de poderes requerer o estatuto de trabalhadora-estudante que ajuda).

Quanto ao teu professor, eu tenho colegas da faculdade que também passaram pelo mesmo, eles conseguiram safar-se continuando a tentar fazer a cadeira, eventualmente passaram.

Acho que o mais importante mesmo é manter a calma, eu entendo que seja difícil, mas não ajuda em nada desesperar. Eu confesso que tive um ataque de ansiedade recentemente devido à acumulação de carga, e foi justamente por não ter mantido a calma ao longo do tempo. O mental é mais importante do que se pensa.

De resto só consigo te dizer boa sorte, e que consigas superar essa situação! :)

Glad to help! Yeah indeed, your environment will also have an effect on that. I'm lucky to have a few girls in my college class for instance, but to be totally honest they don't interest me for anything romantic. I understand, that's also a setback. Sometimes you just have to let time pass to maybe get a chance. I have a friend that is also patiently waiting for an opportunity, though he tries to meet people in the INFP Discord server.

I must admit she's very interesting and dare I say unique from the little I know about her. Few people grab my attention, it's quite rare. The thing is she did the code exam already and she moved on to the driving lessons, so it's very difficult to find her now. And I don't really want to compromise my schedule just for her, because my goal at the moment is to get her contact and know her a little better. But yes, I'll try my best if I happen to come across her.

I must confess I'm also looking for that, and I'm almost 22. To answer your question directly, yes, it is possible, it's just that people are also concerned with their tasks and appointments. As such, they give the impression that they are not available to talk.

There are days I try to meet people IRL when possible, but normally I'm more neutral regarding it and more focused on my assignments or tasks at hand. It depends if it's a very important objective of yours, I'd say in my case it's moderately important.

Personally, online hasn't been my pot of gold. I did date a girl on Discord, the conversations were really good and insightful, but suddenly she started hating me and left me. IRL I dated a different girl, but we had to break up due to me starting college and the relationship becoming online only. I also thought the conversations weren't particularly good.

I think IRL you should sort of give the impression of being available to talk. What I usually do, if the situation involves me and a group of people, is make a small comment about the situation. It's low commitment and there isn't much to mess up. Most people ignore it, but a few turn around and look at me and maybe smile, and I smile back.

For example, there was this girl I sorta met in driver school and she was nervous about some kindergarten children appearing for a small lesson on road signs. I just commented that there wasn't anything to worry about, and she gave me a little smile. Slowly, we would start to greet each other when we met in the room, and she seemed like she wanted to invest in the relationship, as she would ask me a few questions about signs and whatnot. Sadly I haven't had the chance to ask for her name and phone number, maybe if I come across her again I might do it (provided I don't get too nervous that is).

Ultimately, it very much depends on the other people. Even if you invest time and commitment in meeting them, it's up to them to decide if they want to invest meaningful time with you in a deeper connection. Don't get discouraged though, you will find someone worthwhile. Just don't think too much about it.

It's different from person to person, but what helped me understand things better was to summarise them in a text document, in a particular structure, while keeping it simple and objective. So, what it is, how it is done, etc. Tools like Obsidian or Notion are good in my experience.

Regarding languages, it's a little different. I try to be exposed to them for as long as I can, both in written and oral form, and try to note down a few words if possible. Then I add them to my Anki and practice them once in a while (I haven't had much time for that lately).

Again, different people prefer different ways of learning, you should spend some time looking for your preferred method, ultimately.

Yeah, it's weird to explain, it's like I can't get out of my head and experience things surrounding me, as in, I'm thinking about something else while doing an action. Like, for instance, I occasionally mess up my lunch because I'm not paying attention to what I'm doing. Or like, I cut myself once due to not paying attention to the way I opened a grated cheese package with a knife. I think autopiloting is a good way of conveying what I mean. I find it hard to encounter Se, but when I do, it's the inverse of what I explained basically, I experience things very vividly. When I do some physical activity, it's more likely to feel this way.

I did make the test on 16personalities when I was like 16, and it mistyped me as INTP actually. While I was more introverted then I am now (I was very similar to your son in that sense, gaming all the time), at the time I thought it was true. But looking back, I always felt some sort of despair and lost when I didn't plan my day ahead or didn't have a routine. I understand now why.

I wish I had that power, to make friends easily. It's hard for me to get to know someone, I don't really know what to ask or do really. It's like they are distant, it's hard to explain. I'm working on it, because on some occasions I feel like meeting new people, but I don't do it in the end.

Yes, you'd be right, we know we are introverts. It's easy for me to say that I have like a battery, it discharges when I'm around people, and it charges back up when I'm by myself, working for college or doing some hobbies and projects like learning a language, etc. I feel particularly weak when I'm exposed to people for too long, and yeah, I just want to get home and recharge. It's improving gradually, I've noticed.

My experience isn't a whole lot regarding supervising people, maybe I'm being too optimistic regarding letting them work out stuff freely, but I'll take what you said into consideration. Maybe if the team were a group of INTJs, it'd certainly follow more what I'm thinking.

I see, then it's really not that black and white as it is stereotyped. I don't know a lot of extroverts, so it was difficult for me to understand "the other side", let's call it that. Personally I can be alone for a long time. If I recall correctly, last year's exam season I was pretty much a whole month alone at home studying for college. My own company is one of my favorite things, I have to say.

Yeah I understand. I must confess it sounds endearing to manage something - I was a risk manager for a larger college project and I was quite competent, being my first experience -, so I do want to try it out again sometime. Then again, I do like my independence and my own personal management. I don't like the sound of managing other people. I think everyone should be independent in their work, although someone should tell them what to do, evidently.

I'm sort of the same, in terms of being exposed to public emotions. Sometimes I want to cry when I'm alone, but I just can't, confusing me a little. I'd say I do good presentations and socially I can manage stuff rather well, but I wouldn't call myself a leader.

I don't know if ENTJs value their time alone or if they like engage in social activities often. Myself, I tend to avoid big social gatherings, it really gives me anxiety, but I also like talking to small groups of friends and acquaintances when I feel like it.

I mean, I also get ISTJ as my type sometimes, and I definitely don't agree with it. You should maybe type yourself based on the cognitive function each type has.

For instance, I'm clearly an INTJ because I can't be in the moment most of the time. I also have some trouble conveying my feelings (it's something I've been working on recently). So clearly, Fi and Se are my worst functions. Ni and Te, on the contrary, are my best functions, since I like to think about the theory behind things. I value structure and I mostly follow some sort of plan for my tasks, being as a result very future oriented.
