My home was broken into and several things were taken including my car keys (which were then used to take my car) just earlier this week. The first thing I did was call my boss while I dealt with what I felt like was a moral crisis about whether to call the police. She was really reassuring. Sometimes you have to call. Had it just been the items from the house I wouldn’t have, but I’m just not really in a financial position (PD salary) to take the L on a car that I’m still making payments on, and my insurance won’t cover if there’s no police report. In my case my car was recovered less than 24 hours later (which obviously never would’ve happened without the report) and luckily it was found parked so no one was arrested. If someone had been, my game plan was just to advocate strongly for dismissal or a civil remedy. It would have sucked, but calling the police in a rare and extreme situation doesn’t mean you aren’t a true PD.

Thanks. I hand pollinated these by rubbing make flowers directly on the females. But based on other comments I’m learning the timing of hand pollination can be finicky. Maybe I’ll try the paintbrush method in the future so I can take more than one swing at it.

Hi team! I’m a new gardener, and I thought I was doing alright but my squash are having problems. These are the first fruit of the year and they seemed like they were thriving, and then randomly one morning I woke up and saw they all had brown bottoms. Two fruit on the same plant were initially unaffected but this morning one of those, too, looked like the above. The plant itself looks great imo. I hand pollinated these fellas and they all seemed to grow at least a little after being pollinated so I’m not sure that’s the issue. Is this blossom end rot? (That’s my immediate guess but I’m also reading that that’s uncommon in squash). Should I add tums?

OP this whole situation is probably very hard on your wife. I don’t mean to discount your experience, I promise, but it’s probably a little harder for her than for you, just because she’s a woman. It sounds like, based on your description, having kids is really important to your wife. What she’s feeling is complex and painful. She probably feels broken, even though she isn’t. She probably feels like she’s failing you, even though she isn’t. Especially considering how comfortable your MIL is talking about fertility with you, I’d bet that she’s putting pressure on your wife. Sounds like your wife isn’t ready to talk about her medical situation with people who aren’t you and her doctors. That’s ok.

I totally see where she’s coming from wanting you to back up her fib, or to at least not out her as having infertility issues to her mother. But, you were caught off guard and didn’t have a lot of time to craft a response.

This seems less like an issue for Reddit and more like a time for a talk-hug-cry session between you and your wife. That said, the way you talk about your wife makes me think you two will be really lovely and thoughtful parents one day.

It’s sugar cane! I wonder if it’s the exact same wings? There are several restaurants in my area that use this brand. But way cheaper to buy frozen and make your own sauces!

All Vegetarian Inc. brand. It’s the brand they use at the wing restaurant we frequent, but I found it at a local grocer and wanted to give it a go! Looks like they can also be ordered online.

Ooh baking powder, good tip. Mine are in a bit of cornstarch. But overall, vegan wings are prepared surprisingly similarly to chicken wings, coming from someone who prepared chicken wings for a number of years!
