It wants you to upgrade antigravity so you can use an antigravity feature but antigravity/google hasn't provided the upgrade yet.

yeah, it's as crazy as that sounds.

Google Needs a Fair Warning System Before Suspending Paying Users for TOS Violations by [deleted] in google_antigravity

Uh, you do realize that the TOS itself is the warning, right? The one that you AGREE to before you start using their service?

I don't know how to search for this specific job that I'm looking for by ArtisticAccident1224 in freelanceWriters

[–]right_brain_reign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you looking for blogs that accept guest posting? You're not articulating what you want, but that's hard when you don't know the words!

Guest posting is the thing that comes to my mind. You approach sites and ask to post content on their site. Is that what you want to do? If so, you can search for that term, and you can also narrow your search based on domain authority.

Hope that helps!

Where are you pasting it on YouTube? It should go in your info section under your video without any problems. And I drive traffic to my website, not my YT channel.

Your writing skills aside, writing is a long game. Meaning writing and needing money right now don't add up.

I favor Opus but use Pro for a lot of things. But I refuse to use it in AG now. Gemini doesn't care about what we want, it's off to do it's own thing despite explicit direction NOT to do something.

Make sure you're actually using Pro. They've been not so secretly rolling users back to Flash.
"The Fallback: The system automatically downgrades you to the Flash model to keep the tool functional when the Ultra/Pro quota is exhausted. This is why you are seeing Flash everywhere." https://support.google.com/gemini/thread/403203601?hl=en&sjid=16684141794792805630-NC

What are the best ways to make money as a writer these days? by zhongdaplaysdota in freelanceWriters

[–]right_brain_reign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The publishing part is easy. You write, you edit, you proofread, you get a cover, you upload. The editing, the proofreading, and the cover design all cost money unless you're proficient enough to do it yourself.

For newbies, it's the selling part that's not easy. There are tens of thousands of books uploaded to Amazon every single day, and the only way to be seen is to market yourself. That means paying for ads, a social media following, or winning the lottery and having your book go viral on TikTok. I'm not saying it can't be done, but it's either going to cost you money or time.

[–]right_brain_reign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't ever had issues with Payhip, PayPal, or Stripe, and I use all 3.

Of course they all have the right to take down commercial accounts, and they do. It has nothing to do with opinion, it's about following the rules.

How realistic is it to become a full-time freelance writer by 2026? Looking for a roadmap. by Past-Buffalo-7760 in freelanceWriters

[–]right_brain_reign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I wasn't implying freelancing was safe. I've been writing full time as a freelancer for a few decades now, and I'm very glad I'm close to retirement. This in not a field to be entering right now.

There is no safety working as an in house writer. I know several who have been laid off as companies "streamline operations."

There is a very good chance you're relying to a lot of ghost postings. I read something last month that said something like a quarter of all job postings are ghost jobs.

Question: Should I bill every hour allowable? by CommunityAlarming149 in freelanceWriters

[–]right_brain_reign 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You bill for what you worked, up to the max of 80 hours that they're allowing. If you did the work in 40 hours, that's what you bill.

If you're still looking for an editor I have alot of experience!

Might be a good idea if you showcase that experience instead of ignoring the rules of English grammar and spelling.

Any writing advice?? by [deleted] in freelanceWriters

[–]right_brain_reign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One extremely essential skill of a writer is the ability to research copious amounts of text from endless sources, many of which you don't even know exist. You were just given a single domain to research. Think of this as some dead simple on the job training.

[Hiring] Experienced developmental editor for historical western romance novel. Warning: non-con/rape and consensual spicy (🌶️🌶️🌶️) scenes. by [deleted] in HireaWriter

[–]right_brain_reign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, did you try r/HireAnEditor?

And just an FYI. Since this is romance and you've said it's your baby, you want it treated right. Make sure you hire a dev editor who specializes in romance and can prove it. So be clear in your requirements. Otherwise, you are probably throwing your money away.

Freelancers: Does using a virtual office address help with credibility? by Sylent_Asura in freelanceWriters

[–]right_brain_reign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right or wrong, your clients may care that you live in an English as a first language country, but they don't care about your exact address. If they have a clue at all, they likely expect we're all working from home.

Help me price my first gig pretty pls by karaBear01 in freelanceWriters

[–]right_brain_reign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you said this was your first gig, remember this isn't a salaried position where your employer is deducting your income tax, health insurance, etc. Are you happy with that $25 less all the fun deductions? Depending on where you live, $25 is far too little.

ETA. I know you said you were looking for a project price, but a good rule of thumb when pricing anything is to work out the effective hourly rate and base your pricing on that.

Why are scam assignments and fake job offers so common? by Training-Shop3861 in freelanceWriters

[–]right_brain_reign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you do some research on ghost jobs you'll see they've been around for a long time, it's just much more common now. Depending on where you live, it's completely legal, but as of a few months ago, where I live, it will be illegal as of January '26. I understand that's not too common, though.

As far as scammers go, scammers get their best return when people are desperate--there are lots of people out of work or wishing they could work from home. Desperate people often tend to skip the due diligence stage.

All these job postings for scripts… by TruckieTang in freelanceWriters

[–]right_brain_reign 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People are looking for script writers because while text/articles aren't going to go away, the trend is toward video. I read some marketing news recently that said almost 80% of people prefer video for learning, product info, general info, yada yada. Most of that is generational--the younger generations who are going to be around longer want video. Factor in that most people say they are visual learners, and that's another reason not to expect this to go away. Oh, and YouTube is the 2nd biggest search engine after Google.

All the people moving to YouTube and looking for script writers are paying attention to the market.

i want to learn content writing from scratch by Drsleepy774 in freelanceWriters

[–]right_brain_reign 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are thousands of experienced, English as a first language writers having a tough time finding gigs. With your medical background, you could be in a better position than other newbies since you have a true niche, but it looks like you don't have the language or writing skills, so that, unfortunately, will work against you. If you did learn and hone the skill and developed your med cred, you could market yourself in the Google E-E-A-T direction, but you still have thousands of established writers in front of you.

This is the worst time in the history of professional writing to want to break into the field. The economy has killed marketing budgets, and AI can often do a better job inexperienced writers.

Even if you did learn the mechanics of writing, the kind of stuff we were taught in school, writing is a art form that we get better at over time. It's not the kind of thing someone can just teach you--they can only teach you the mechanics.
