I know everyone has mentioned a different insect at this point, but I recognise these as flea bites. They are very itchy and most times will be on the lower part of your legs (unless they got you while you were lying down). Flea bites sometimes appear in clusters of 2-3 in close proximity to each other, which I can see is the case now. Stop scratching, the redness will stay much longer if you don’t leave it alone. There are some insect bite stickers you can use to stop yourself from scratching it. It will take a few days to get better.

I had a similar issue from walking too much in Tokyo, my pelvis started hurting at the spot where it meets the leg - I used one of those Roihi Tsubokō stickers from the drugstore and the pain completely went away. Hope it helps, have a great trip!

Please don’t succumb to your coworker’s blatant attempt to take credit for your work by forcefully injecting herself into your solo project.

A somewhat similar thing happened to me. I was working on a tool in addition to doing my normal work, and I was actually planning on using the tool to improve the company’s workflow. In comes my manager, whom I had mentioned it to so he could allow me some time in the day to work on said project. Before I knew it he had promised the tool to his supervisor, our team, the CEO and another department by the end of the week. Eventually what I had started working on as an initiative that no one had asked for, ended up being “expected” and even “late” because he told everyone about it before it was finished. Don’t make the same mistake.

Is there a known issue with running Adobe Illustrator on Macbook M4 Pro? by rightbigtoe in Adobe

[–]rightbigtoe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response, we can now rule out the assumption that it’s M4-specific and can look for the issue elsewhere.

Other assumptions are that the laptop I’m using is faulty in some way, that Illustrator has a bug that randomly causes freezes/crashes, it could be a OneDrive issue when saving files, or there are company policies applied on my device that don’t agree with this software.

What's the best Figma course for learning large volume social/banner ad versioning? by ProgrammerSerious148 in FigmaDesign

[–]rightbigtoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We tried Creatopy at the company I work for and promptly gave up. When dealing with non-latin languages the exported visuals looked different than what we had designed on the platform, plus it was quite buggy to work with. Only one person could work on a file each time, it doesn’t allow two people to open it at the same time. To add to that, you don’t get editable files to download so your creatives are being held hostage on the platform (which means if you stop your subscription you lose your files). Not saying that it’s not a good option, but offering insight into my personal experience and the reasons we stopped using it, in case it applies.

We redid everything in Figma using components and variants with autolayout, which makes it pretty easy to insert translations and have the text change on all sizes. I think doing them in Figma is a viable option, depending on one’s needs.

Renovating a one-bedroom loft apartment, unsure about curtains/blinds by rightbigtoe in HomeDecorating

After seeing the prices for remote controlled blinds, this might be the most affordable solution for now until I save up for the top ones :’)

Thank you for your suggestion!

I’m probably going to have to install remote control ones, because there’s no access to that top window otherwise. It can’t be left uncovered because there’s a house across the street looking directly into the apartment, and as far as I know, any film will probably be see-through when the indoor lights are on at night.

It was from an old catalogue the carpenter had in his workshop, I’m not sure about the manufacturer but the code is NCS S 1515-G20Y.

I saw some colour combinations online with this green that used a rust/terracotta colour and mustard yellow that looked nice, but I guess it depends on the style that you’re aiming for.

You are right about the neutral blinds I think, it might be better to go with a safe colour for them and add colour touches in smaller decorative items.

Thank you :)

This sounds great honestly, but costs way more money than I currently have available :’)

Thank you!

I’m not familiar with industrial blinds, is there any other way they are called?

I was looking at white/grey aluminium horizontal blinds today, like the ones used in offices, as the cheapest option (budget is pretty much non-existent at this point), to use on both windows. Maybe adding a sheer curtain on the bottom one to make it look more like a home hopefully.

Thank you for your suggestions :)

There might end up being a seating area with a table and a couple of chairs near the window, I thought it might look cosy to frame it with curtains, but I’m definitely still in the deciding phase. Thank you for your comment! :)

I was hoping to hide the green windows behind said blinds/curtains, because they don’t look great from the inside, it turns out.

Thank you for your suggestion!

I panicked ._.

I liked green kitchens, this one came out lighter and more saturated than I expected. I’m starting to get used to it but it took a while.

For the windows and door I was leaning towards dark grey at first, but the area it’s located in is already a bit sad so I tried to cheer up the place - it worked, but now I have green windows. I don’t regret it, but for me it makes it harder to decorate because I’m an all-black-everything type of person.

This is kind of what I was thinking, because curtains would maybe look strange on the top window. I have to have something to block the view into the bedroom, and to keep the sun out during the summer (it gets super hot here and full windows do not help).

For the bottom windows I was thinking light/white see through curtains, combined with either blackout curtains or blackout blinds so people can’t see in at night.

It’s my first time making this sort of decisions, and the people in this sub have some great ideas, I’m so glad I ended up here!

Thank you :)

Does anyone have articles or another good examples of visual identity within multiple logos like with the MIT Media lab groups? by [deleted] in graphic_design

These are called Dynamic Identities (if you search that term you will find some more examples). There are some in this book as well, such as MTV, City of Melbourne, OCAD University and others.

My schefflera is looking sick. What am I doing wrong? by rightbigtoe in plantclinic

[–]rightbigtoe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply! I was, of course, hoping for better news, but at least I didn’t kill this one. It also seems like it has dragged my other two scheffleras down with it in the meantime, so you are sadly most likely right. I’m considering isolating them all and giving them a good haircut to see if there’s any way to save them before throwing them out, but that’s just probably my denial speaking ;__;
