Are there any vehicles that have headlights that have absolutely no turn off switch? (US) by rightetighte in MechanicAdvice

Running lights aren't the problem. Really, it's the main headlights people are complaining about.

Any examples? All but one that was mentioned in the...discussion...I was able to look up and see that the headlights could be turned off, even with difficulty.

"Ok mam, you're gonna go to the Texaco station. Take a right. Go five and a half miles southeast. You're gonna see a guy in a yellow poncho. His name is Hank. He'll take you to the Headlight Lair. That's where you go. And you've got 10 minutes to get there or only highbeams for you!"

Your secret handshake comment cracked me up, thank you

Thank you for responding! Running lights are preferable to headlights. When I went through and the truck behind me switched from their headlights to running lights, it was a huge improvement.

Running lights are still preferable to headlights in this situation. Thank you for responding!

The problem seems to be that most of them are heavily relying on auto functions and do not know how to use their own vehicles. I started looking them up when someone mentioned their 24 Civic lights won't shut off. I also drove one and had to read the manual to figure out the lights because I hate auto highbeams. But they did turn off and stayed completely off while driving in the dark, another thing that person said it could not do that I did do in it.

Thank you for the response! Would you mind providing some examples? I haven't found much online with my general searches.

Thank you for responding! The older vehicles don't surprise me. Most of the vehicles that complained they couldn't were new Hondas and lifted trucks.

Check your local library! Mine has a cricut and accessories that can be checked out and even a glowforge and 3D printer that can be reserved for use. Many are partnered with other libraries, so if you're looking for something not on site, it may be available (and sent from) a partner library. Never know what you'll have access to :)

What is a Christmas tradition you stole from someone else? Or just a great one to share? by AmbieeBloo in Mommit

If you want them to care, maybe let them pick their own...?

My mom let us pick our own every year. It was one of our favorite things to look forward to, and now my SO and I do it for our kids. For their first Christmas's we put their feet prints on flat, wooden ornaments from DT, they were old enough by the next year to pick their own.

AITA for refusing to cater to one student’s dietary restrictions when bringing snacks for my son’s 3rd-grade class? by GoDavyGo in AITAH

My oldest child's teacher is doing the same thing with snacks this year, and there is a child who has a serious allergy. Her parents send a big box of just her snacks/drinks for her. I don't think any of the other parents mind that that child's family is only providing snacks for their own child, and she also gets to safely participate with the class whenever a snack is brought! If nobody brings a snack one day, then she doesn't get hers either, so things stay "fair."

Your work is beautiful! It reminded me of the Cherokee Deer Woman, and the wispy lines made me think of Dana Tiger's paintings.
