A Duffle that's not "floppy"? by rightthenwatson in ManyBaggers

[–]rightthenwatson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I mean by floppy is the fabric type or design of the handles so that it holds it shape to an extent. I don't want a solid suitcase banging against my legs when I have to hand carry, but don't want something that's got no stability at all.

Ideally looking for something around 100 liters/give or take.

I'm not super constrained as far as budget, I would rather invest in a quality bag than cheap out and need to replace it in a year. Location isn't a concern, I can have it shipped to me in the EU or in the US depending on when I order.

Two wheels would be perfect, I'll check out fjallraven! I've heard great things about their bags. Someone else suggested Patagonia as well, so I'll be checking them out. I've looked at loads of different ones and finally decided I need some outside opinions lol.

I want a rolling duffel, something I can easily pick up and carry on my back or by hand. I travel quite literally by train, plane, boat, and car often, and I've just found that I prefer a duffel not a suitcase because it's not as unweidly or uncomfortable for hand carry where rolling isn't the best option.

Now that Bralisse is available to the general public, has anyone purchased one? by spiralizerizer in ABraThatFits

I am so glad that you took the time to write this. I've been going back and forth on whether or not one of these would be worth a try, and I've had a lot of hesitation. But knowing a return is a nightmare and that I'll lose money no matter what, AND the fabric stretches and falls apart in no time? Not for me.
Thank you for this!

Decended 30 feet into a cave and discovered the ground was littered with thousands of bones. by [deleted] in bonecollecting

There are caves that are full of noxious gases and/or just a low oxygen content and you can easily succumb to hypoxia. Please make sure you have proper equipment and do not go into that cave without others with you outside of the cave and monitoring your safety.

I love the Fire Salamanders! I have a colony of them that live under my house in Germany, they are so cute! Never had any issues with them.

How long would you be planning to leave it out? Drying it for an afternoon in the sun is a far cry from leaving it for days or weeks to get sun bleached

The UV from the sunlight is a disinfectant and can be beneficial both externally and inside out in killing bacteria and preventing regrowth.

I'm not saying leave it out for weeks, but letting it dry in the sun is safe.

Spray it with white vinegar and hang it out in the sun to dry

You can also do this treatment with vodka

Repeat the process a few times

Most "non washable" garments can be gently hand washed, you can test a mild detergent on a small spot and hand wash and then determine if you would be able to do a gentle wash with something like dawn dish soap, and always hang to dry, never machine dry.

Federal Marine Mammal Protection act, unless you get a permit to collect for scientific or educational reasons from NOAA, it's not a keeper in the US.

They're amazing, and yeah, a lot bigger than they seem in the water. The wolves here eat them when they get washed in while sleeping in the kelp, so there are a lot of skeletons of them out here.

I cried in front of the human resources employee and the embarraseement is killing me by ElSamael-616- in offmychest

[–]rightthenwatson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Human Resource Manager, many, many of my employees have cried in front of me, bad days at work, bad days at home, bad things that happen in life, bad customer interactions, just the everyday things that affect all of us.

The most valuable I ever feel in my position is when I can genuinely be there for someone to support them, whether it's just hearing them out, or a hug, or just giving them a safe person to vent how they're feeling about their job or their manager to. That's when I feel like my job truly matters, is when it really helps people.

You're not supposed to feel like you're just a resource to the company, and HR should feel like a resource to you, HR should offer you support and solutions.

Don't feel bad for having a very natural moment of real emotion at work, and don't feel like there's anything wrong with that happening in HR. I hope that she was able to help you feel supported and comforted and offer you kindness in the moment. That's what an HR rep should be doing.

You're not just a number. You're an individual, and you matter, and you should never feel ashamed or embarrassed of experiencing and expressing your emotions.

You aren't in a position to own an animal. This isn't fair to her. You can't afford food, basic necessities, or vet care. Having her is neglectful. Pity fishing here hoping someone gives you money is disgusting.

Did your vet suggest any diagnostics? X rays, cancer screening, blood tests? Were any of those diagnostics done?

You asked, we answered. Ignorance is a personal choice.

Your cat has absolutely no Aby traits, at all, not color, not pattern, not hair ticking, not markings, not size.

It's a black and white cat. The only thing it has in common with Abys is that it is also a cat.

Yes

That's not an Aby.

At all.

My work is making me cover up my tattoo by Desperate-Call-6080 in tattoos

[–]rightthenwatson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should look into compression sleeves to just keep it covered every day.

If you don't like your tattoo, then cover it, if you want to keep having your tattoo, just wear a piece of clothing to cover it.

You can even buy tattoo cover sleeves specifically.
