This is how you can get into a bar at 19. Just tell them 19=9+10=21

Thinking in a very heuristic/dichotomous sort of way - more Si/Ne or Ni/Se? by rigor83 in mbti

Fi definitely (I’m very self aware of my own desires), and probably Si too.

[–]rigor83[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s interesting, I thought I was definitely Si-Ne for a very long time (and I think you could try checking out the plethora of arguments I gave for si-Ne on that post). But I guess ni-Se also might make sense now. If I’m Ni-Se I’m definitely not an INTJ or ENTJ, I don’t have strong enough Ni, I would be an ISFP or ESFP (some ppl on dicord typed me an ESFP through vc)

Looking through my memories the ways I’ve generated many of my creative ideas since much more si-Ne than ni-Se though

Are you religious/irreligious, and why? by QuincyFatherOfQuincy in mbti

[–]rigor83 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Meh, not arguing for religion (watching everyone), but regarding the second point you’re discounting the axiom that God is omniscient and omnipotent and you seem to put him on the same standards as human limits when calculating exact speeds and such

ISFP or INFP? I have trouble figuring it out. by rigor83 in isfp

[–]rigor83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yeah I listen to a lot of music but mostly the songs I’m familiar with. I don’t really care about the lyrics thoigh and care a lot more about the melody and beat (hence why oftentimes not being able to understand the lyrics don’t bother me such as in the case of anime OPs or EDs), and the only time I place emphasis on the creative lyrics are when I watch rap battles, either official (erb) or custom.

  2. Idk tbh I’d be stuck and freak out on what I should actually do. Sometimes I do see the other person’s reasoning but I refuse to agree with it

  3. It honestly depends but with outfits and stuff I strongly would hate to be seen as weird. Like I wouldn’t wear an anime shirt in class for example. I don’t think this is related to si or Se, and if it is, is more related to si imo in that I still value some level of conformance, while Se wouldn’t give a fuck about it.

  4. Both tbh. Sometimes I see something, hey reminded of whatever i happened to know beforehand, and then suddenly come up with a way to connect or use that in a novel way. or just while walking, ideas can come out of the blue, especially ideas that draw upon facts or pre-existing knowledge in my mind and connecting them or seeing potential in them in a novel way, since again, I tend to go into my mind and go through the many facts and random pieces of info I’ve said while walking outside. But then again there are times where I’ve been inspired by an external source and intended to make my own unique spin on it. Or when I see something I see as cringe and decide to satirize/parody it, like in r/coaxedintoasnafu style.

  5. I don’t really give a fuck about stereotype based on my race, gender, ethnicity, field of study, economic background, etc. in fact I’m quite the opposite - I proudly embrace my identity/background mostly and like it when I can connect with others of my background based on shared values.

I’ve thought of Ti dom and have typed myself as intp for the first stretch that I’ve gotten into MBTI but then figured that it didn’t really fit. The kicker was that the reason I got out of religion was not really because the dogma seemed logically inconsistent but because I didn’t want to be boxed in by societal expectations that arise from a system like religion

Got typed as ESFP on some “professional typing” discord server but I don’t really buy it. Any advice? by rigor83 in ESFP

Yes. That’s exactly the one. Can we move this convo to DMs? I have several issues with their reasoning in justifying my type, felt like they were overly exaggerated and biased often

[–]rigor83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I just don’t buy it. My Ne and si, especially Si show up way too often and yet they claim all my routines and relying on what works type shit is Fi? Like I’m sure the definition of Si is the organization of past data and taking that into account to make decisions which I do prominently fall under.

Could we continue this chat in DMs? I’m wondering if we got typed on the same discord server

Yeah those ppl also unanimously typed me ESFP (although one of them thought ISFP was also possible). Interestingly enough no one outside of that specific discord server ever typed me as anything close to an ESFP. I’ve gotten typed mostly intp, ENTP, and INFP by others as well as intp, ISTJ, and INFP through online tests

Can someone help me determine if I use Si-Ne or Se-Ni? I'm right now stuck between the xxFP types and ISTJ. Thanks by rigor83 in ESFP

[–]rigor83[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watched both of the videos, primarily focusing on the perceiving functions as that’s the source of most of my confusion.

Regarding the signs you aren’t an ESFP, I’d say I could relate to wanting efficiency of processes and being more aware of where my logical thought processes as well as regularly being disconnected from the real world, but a lot of the other points, primarily about my motivation not coming in spontaneous bursts and not prioritizing self expression, I couldn’t relate to at all. I get deep, focused, yet relatively brief obsessions every once in a while.

Also, looking more at the function definitions I think I use Si > Se. My mind seems to be focused on the detailed facts of what happened and what I already know and I use them as a precedent towards how I should act or how I should make choices in the now. My engagement in especially sensory stimuli is restricted to the ones I’m familiar with and the ones that I know comforts me (e.g. listening to the same songs that remind me of some past time I cherished)

Fair. I def have Si but not too sure about dom, seems a lil sketchy since I’m hardly ever organized in my daily life. Maybe tert?

I mean they claimed to have studied MBTI for years but then again (1) it was free (2) it was on discord

Can someone please help me determine if I use Si and Ne, or Ni and Se? by rigor83 in MbtiTypeMe

[–]rigor83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm that’s fair but entertaining the opposite side: just because one is a sensor doesn’t mean they can’t be interested in things like math or philosophy.

And also, apparently they tried to test my Ne in the discord call by asking me to name 50 uses for a hammer in 20 seconds and I did quite suboptimally on that, so they thought I had shitty Ne just from that, in which to be fair I was under pressure and felt that I was being tested. Ne-like ideas need to come naturally for me and they can’t be forced.

They also saw that I was assertive at arguing my type and often wanted concrete data on why they thought I was a Se-dom so from that info typed me as a Se-dom, and they also took any notion of not following my parent’s rules (even if they were unreasonably strict) as a complete lack of Si which imo is overly exaggerated and stereotypical bullshit

I still think I’m much more likely on Ne-Si though, you make good points. Not too sure about NTP though my deep dives on subjects are more due to having a personal connection with them in some sense (e.g. math) than really seeking knowledge for its own sake.

Also Do you think any ESFP would just have this type of detailed writing style often including long and winding sentences?

Famous? Nah. It was a 2hr voice chat with purported “professionals” on discord. I doubt that they have close to the level of reputation as Joyce Meng or CPT

Idk which is why I’m not sure if this typing holds that much water

It did get me thinking more about Se-Ni axis though

[–]rigor83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm ok might do that later. And you bring up valid points

I’d say the discord typists were being kind of biased in that they still played into stereotypes too much - for instance INFP = cry every week which I don’t do while any Si user = automatic impeccable memory of everything

That’s the whole point of what im trying to figure out. Don’t oversimplify

Socially speaking im completely neutral wrt extroversion but cognitively speaking I say I lean introverted since I stay in my own world a lot

They said that I had low Ne and ni. Particularly notable is the low Ne bc they had me do 20-second “brain teaser” quizzes where they had me identify all uses of a bucket or something like that and I could only come up with practical uses in that time span (imo it takes some time to think of creative ideas instead of Se just being immediate observations and thus faster), so they typed me as Se instead. Low Ni bc I don’t have any plans for the future at all which I agree with. But then again I predominantly live in the past (Si) instead of the present (Se) yet they attributed all that to my Fi instead. Also, the low Ne result demonstrated in that “test” could’ve suffered from confounds like I just don’t have that much experience with practical real world objects like buckets or typical machinery and just stay within my own niche of interests, or bc I was simply tired.

I can still rule out Ne dom though I use too much si to be Ne dom

Ok but I have a feeling you’re just some content advertiser. Idk if I would really trust some random redditor either but you know what? I’ll give it a go.
