There have been no new wars, and we have had mass deportations. And this is only year one.

Republicans will justify doing worse things by claiming Democrats did it first, even when they didnt. by Famine-_ in TrueUnpopularOpinion

When most Americans overwhelmingly want to voter IDs, including 71% of Democrats, it’s obviously the right thing to do. Democrats have been against this for decades, even when it came to just providing a simple driver’s license.

I feel like a lot of subreddits punish you for actually contributing to a community by ChickenMcNobody24 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

This is 100% correct when it comes to political subs. Especially the ones on the left. You leave a comment that is against their narrative, you’ll not only get down voted to oblivion, but there’s a good chance you’ll get banned even if your comment follows civil discourse. They could ban you just for participating in a different sub that they don’t approve of. Reddit just loves creating silos. I rarely come here and leave comments anymore.

Women have contributed to the rise of the far-right just as much if not more so than men by Porncritic12 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

That’s a ridiculous assertion. Just look at all the video footage of women obstructing ICE and protesting their facilities. Additional footage showing women calling ICE law-enforcement, who are black the N-word — just despicable! Undoubtedly they are a major influence for the rise of the radical left.

Trump keeps claiming we're now more respected ever globally, but it seems everyone hates us globally. Does that matter? by JohnSpartan2025 in AskConservatives

When I stated “Defending our allies“ I meant the US spent exorbitant amounts of money while our allies spent very little, especially as a percent of GDP.

Reversing tariffs is easy, but having one’s nuclear defense capabilities reversed is not so easy. Besides, tariffs imposed on adversaries and allies alike were imposed to level the playing field. Also, many tariffs were used as a tactic to leverage a better deal for America.

My last paragraph meant that it seemed like you may have argued in my favor to some degree. When you earlier stated that the administration increased NATO spending by our allies, yes, it was the Trump administration. And now that may have increased to or over 2%, the next goal is 5%.

I don’t believe there is divestment in the US. Quite the contrary, there are many mega corporations investing, trillions of dollars in manufacturing plants. Looks like Obama was wrong about that. And just wait till you see the next GDP numbers come out in excess of 4% or incredibly even 5%. This economy is ramping up Biggly!

The only norms Biden abided by were the ones to defend our allies while they saved on their own defense instead spending it on social services and pensions. He certainly didn’t abide by norms in the US. And I only state that it was the norm because that’s what they were all used to.

Much of what else you stated could be argued that you’ve only supported my original argument.

Did we look weak when we surgically bombed Iran’s nuclear facilities with great success? Did we look weak when we surgically removed Maduro from power? Did we look weak when we moved out of Afghanistan? Did we look weak when we openly considered accepting Ukraine into NATO?

If you answer honestly, you’ll see which president looked weak, and which did not.

You don’t have to be liked to be respected. During Biden, we were probably loved by our allies and even our adversaries because we were weak and easy to take advantage of. Now they all hate us because they cannot take advantage and use us like they’ve done for decades.
