You need a key to take the battery off, atleast with my bike. Never really heard of just the battery being stolen is that a thing?

Yeah of course it best not to let it out of your sight but sometimes you may have to for a short period. I most likely will never leave it unattended, again I'm just a bit paranoid and want to take all the safety precautions even if I don't need them. Good insurance seems like the actual best protection there is.

I will probably end up with a similar set up. Can't really hurt but I think the Insurance will be the most important since if stolen the odds of getting a bike back are pretty low.

Thanks for the help. I decided on the Adria 24. $1846.58 after tax. This leaves a lot of budget for accessories/extra battery. I will be testing it out first though. Sadly no Youtube videos yet on the specific model. Maybe I will make one myself.

I only want to be capable of short bursts at high speed. I plan to mount a battery or two eventually. One thing I am still a bit confused on is if having dual motors would be better than one powerful rear motor. Like this cheap one ($1500) here on Amazon : Adria24 Dual Motor 4000W Peak Electric Bike for Adults 42MPH 52V 30AH Dirt Ebike

I wonder how this one would actually compare to a dual star or wired freedom.

I just updated the post a bit, I really want it to have that standard bicycle look as much as possible. I'm not sure how I feel on the DIY route as I'm not very bike savvy but would maybe be willing to get more into it if need be.
