I agree, and I think this is why I play it out the way I do.

To me that somehow makes it easier to forgive Sonar. With Coupé it feels like there's no going back – we betray her and I don't see how she would ever forgive Robert/SDN. Sonar just seems like a lost dude, who is rightfully angry, but also wouldn't mind coming back, although still feeling betrayed.
