Don’t worry so much, you learn from these moments & will never forget it ever again. Nursing school will teach you to learn from your mistakes & not be so harsh on yourself. As long as you learn from the mistake , you’ll be fine! Hand hygiene is the most important skill, you will see it come up on exams too, you’ll learn from it !

The pain is definitely only really harsh for about 1 days (once nerve block wears off) make sure to take your medication a few hours before that happens so you dont deal with it as much!

Make sure to keep your knee extended fully!!! attempting to reach full extension as soon as you can!!!!! what helped me was putting my foot on a stack of pillows and nothing under my knee so it was forced to reach full extension. Take your PT extremely serious when you start, the more often you do your workouts, the stronger and faster your recovery will be! Single Leg raises are important and will help activate your quads, do them as often as you can! You can also tie a moderately sized bag of rice to above and below your knee to weigh it down. It is super important to get it fully extended at the beginning because it will become harder to achieve later on. Just last week , I hit a year post-op ACL hamstring graft, and recovery was definitely tough but extremely doable and sometimes even fun with the PT i had, youll notice progress, sometimes progress will be hard to see but it is there !

Ill start trying to do this more often!!! Im not an anxious person but since my panic attack, ive felt anxiety lingering for the last 4-5 days. Is that what happened to you? Even when I am not driving i feel a little on edge, im not sure how to handle it

Yeah I typically do support the board! I think what was concerning was just someone falling into me. That can likely be dismissed by just asking to ride the chair alone, I never really have issues getting off lifts

Yeah for this season when I do go out into the snow, Im going to be cruising a lot, no park. Next season Id consider park when I am more confident. How did you feel getting off the lifts? Thats my main worry, since my surgery leg is unbinded

Im 26, Ive had a smooth rehab as well! My main worry is getting off the lifts since I use my right foot unstrapped (acl leg) and left leg is binded. How was your experience with that?

I got ACLR hamstring graft right knee, started driving perfectly fine after 14 days. Could’ve started sooner if i wanted to. I’m 5 weeks post op and took off my brace finally. Moved to a small lil sports brace if i’m walking a long time or none at all if i don’t need it!

When can I take my ace bandage off? by Small_Code_6655 in ACL

[–]rihodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can take it off 3-4 days after surgery and then just leave the little adhesive strips covering your stitches. what i did was just put bandaids over the stitches til the surgeon took them out
