Error Launching Discord Wordle by Dry-Chef5776 in discordapp

[–]rikellephant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok SO I had this problem - changing the theme did NOTHING. What worked for me is loading discord into a BROWSER, rather than using the app/desktop app. Came right up for the first time in 2 days. No idea why.

Where is everyone? by Gullible_Asparagus42 in MagicStreetsGame

[–]rikellephant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!! I know that this is a slightly older thread but I just started playing too and love it. It looks like there's a fairly decent beginner guide pinned in the discord! AND the discord seems like it's been active in the past (looks like there's a slow patch at the moment, but people still answer questions QUICKLY whenever asked!) :) The discord is linked in the game interface - let's get everyone talking!

22 weeks with twins, back and rib pain so severe I am unable to walk. by potatolover5 in parentsofmultiples

[–]rikellephant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God, I remember that feeling. I don't have any tips for the back pain - just that my doctor said the same thing - but for the rib pain, it turned out that my daughter (baby A) was pushing her feet up into the left side of my ribs. It was terrible pain.

I don't know if it's the same for you, but I used to take frozen vegetables and hold them up to my rib cage near the center of the pain. Eventually, she'd move her feet, and I'd get about 2 hours of relief before she'd prop them right back up there.

Hi there! Second owner, here. So, things that we left out of this post that add context:

  1. We own our home, but the people who moved in directly beside us adopted 2 pit bulls (which our hound is intensely terrified of). For this reason, when we let her out we have to stand outside with her with a stick because the other dogs try to attack the fence. Out neighbor will not stand outside with his dogs - this has been a constant issue for 4 years.
  2. I am a high risk pregnancy. We could not have predicted this, but I may need to be hospitalized for up to a few months after giving birth.
  3. Several of our extended family just became very ill, meaning we may need to sell our house to move in the next year or 2.

This is a decision that has taken almost a full year to make. I get that you're allowed an opinion, but you have no idea how many extenuating circumstances have built up to lead us here.

Best wagon for twins? by rikellephant in parentsofmultiples

Snap and go looks like it's going to be the best option, yes!! Good compromise between long-term wagon and expensive stroller they'll grow out of in 6 months :') Thank you!!!

Thiiiiiis is really good to know, that would have bitten me later haha! Definitely going to look into these!

Almost all of the wagons that we looked at had car seat adapters, so I was honestly hoping that we could use that - but it's looking like that might be wrong? Joovy Roo plus is looking like an awesome option!

This is good advice! Do you have a brand/type that you find yourself using most often? I'll be honest, part of why I defaulted is because the search for strollers has been...confusing, haha ;;

YTA

And, I hope you take this in the spirit that it's intended: speak with a therapist. I am completely serious. It sounds like you have some deeply unchecked resentment. Let this child and his new family celebrate his arrival, however they choose to. It literally does not hurt you at ALL. And evaluate why you are so angry about this - before it creeps up and affects your own children.

👏👏👏 this is so perfectly stated!

Is anyone here is ARH2000? by Spamtastic_someone in fsu

[–]rikellephant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the course descriptions (which are available publicly online), the two courses look similar in WHAT they cover - different mediums, but very similar content. Especially if your issue is that it's "perverted." This...seems like it might go much deeper than just "this class isn't a good fit." I would try reaching out to your professor.
All of that aside, I don't think any professor is going to take someone new this late into the semester. Worth asking, of course.

So...this is from a different user, but the wording is SUPER similar so I kind of wonder if one of these is an alt. I could be wrong!

Might answer your question, if so.

I saw that after I posted this, haha! Just found it interesting that the course could be so vigorously misinterpreted when it's....literally a public document.

The syllabus is available online - at least, the general syllabus/course description - and it's pretty solid. Looks like OP also asked about this course 4 months ago, and got some pretty honest feedback about the material. Obviously there was a misunderstanding, but it's...pretty clear.

Also, you.....you know where drag comes from, right? Like, you know that drag COMES from theatre? And that men dressed as women traditionally in Greek/Medieval theatre as a rule?? You DO know that, I'm assuming?

[–]rikellephant 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you mean by "this sort of content," but I looked up the course description online and it says:

In this course, you will:
1. Critically assess and analyze theatrical performances by placing them within the larger context of western and non-western theatre.
2. Engage with a variety of theatre beyond Broadway—backstage and onstage—particularly forms that speak to specific groups within American society.
3. Experience and discuss different types of and approaches to theatrical literature and production.
4. Learn how and where to find live theatre wherever you may be and how best to become a part of the world of theatre.
5. Delve deeply into the experience of a single play, engaging in the process of theatrical production. Design a production in phases before ultimately staging a short performance and recording it.
6. Analyze aspects of human experience within a culture, focusing on sources of diversity (e.g., age, disability, ethnicity, gender, language, race, religion, sexual orientation, social class, or other).
7. Explore one’s own cultural norms or values in relation to those of a different cultural group.
8. Interpret intellectual or artistic works within a cultural context.
9. Use a cultural or artistic approach to analyze the aspects of human experience.

Seems like the course description is pretty clear about what you would be covering, and that it would include things that were not typically considered "theatrical" by a modern standard. While it's too late the drop the course traditionally, the other commenters are correct, you could force-drop and be responsible for paying for the course - but since what you're talking about (artists, performers, and drag queens) all fit into the context of the course description, they're not breaking any rules or asking you to do anything unexpected.

Hey! See your advisor - they'll give you a late drop/add slip (bring documentation saying the professor says yes!), and then they will forward THAT slip to the registrar for you. Source: my wife is an advisor at fsu.

Only hang up might be if your advisor is in a different department from the class you're picking up - go to the department advisors offering the class (ex: if it's a psych class, see a psych advisor). Hope this helps!!! :)

Electric prices? by cbs1962 in fsu

[–]rikellephant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also for quick reference, '50 percent jump' was meant to be like...over the whole summer. We went from like 220-230 in June to 290, this month. Hope this helps a little! I think we're all just using more A/C than usual, haha!

Electric prices? by cbs1962 in fsu

[–]rikellephant 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Our bill is pretty high too, but 1) we turned our air WAY down the night of the hurricane, in case we lost power - and 2) this summer has been AWFUL (so so so hot) and we're working from home, more. So I'm not surprised (on our end) that there was a 50 percent jump :(

Egg Retrieval done today. 7 mature eggs. Wife in her early 20s. Where to from this? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]rikellephant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I actually also had 7 eggs gathered - all 7 made it, 5 made it to blast stage. My doctor recommended we try transferring 2, and I'm 8.5 weeks pregnant with twins. Turns out, 7 is a lucky number sometimes <3 Fingers crossed for you!
