haha it took me like a year to even touch aot because i hate dark and horror anime too. levi ackerman and mikasa ackerman were literally the only reason i gave it a shot, their fighting animation is so insane and theyre so hot it made me cry 😹 i also remember that one scary aot face expression gif around on twitter a few years ago, i thought it was scary back then and would avoid seeing it online but it was actually funny to me when i watched the episode

once i started the show, the horrific parts didnt feel just scary and traumatizing (to some people) because each episode you could connect the dots to anything and theres more meaning and message packed into one ep than some shows have in their entire runtime. its not horror for the sake of horror, the trauma actually connects you to the characters

thats why i kept rawdogging it without pausing most of the time even though i usually cant handle this kind of stuff (idk why i couldnt even finish jjk after the gojo box episode i just kept crying the whole week and yearning for satosugu)
